from Lorde's public statement about his death:

"I've never met a hero of mine and liked it. It just sucks, the pressure is too huge, you can't enjoy it. David was different. I'll never forget the caressing of our hands as we spoke, or the light in his eyes. That night something changed in me - i felt a calmness grow, a sureness. I think in those brief moments, he heralded me into my next new life, an old rock and roll alien angel in a perfect grey suit. I realized everything I’d ever done, or would do from then on, would be done like maybe he was watching. I realized I was proud of my spiky strangeness because he had been proud of his. And I know I'm never going to stop learning dances, brand new dances.

It's not going to change, how we feel about him. For the rest of our lives, we'll always be crashing in that same car.

Thankyou, David Bowie."

Isn't that good she's the one to honour so many legends? Some singers can't even sing their own songs

True that

Someone else should've done it. It's going to be panned by his fans no matter what and most of her fans won't care.

Lorde should have been the one assigned to tribute David. He has never spoken fondly of Gaga publicly but he's been quoted saying Lorde's music is "the music of tomorrow". If there isn't a relationship between him and Gaga (or worse, a negative one) it makes no sense for her to be the one to do it, that's not what he would have wanted.

Lorde could pull off an androgynous performance easily, especially if she performed "Velvet Goldmine".

Furthermore, if Gaga uses the tribute to David Bowie as a way to revert attention only to herself by pulling some antics, it wouldn't only be trashed and outrageous, but it would be disrespectful to David's legacy.

Gurl you are here and call gaga would be trash and disrespectful if tribute bowie

what kind of fan are you?

Sting? Stevie Wonder? Carole king? Frank Sinatra? Sound of music? Etc.

She do something disrespectful yet? All that tribute mean nothing to you?

if anything that the fan need to know about gaga

That even she seem not to care much about  other modern artist but

her love toward all legend that influence her she is one the kind

and this is about bowie artist that her love the most..

Just wait and see..

I'm a part a David Bowie fan group, in facebook. And i gotta say the reaction is much better than anticipated.

Well..I wasn't just talking about singers, but also musicians. Friends and people that worked with him.

It could be Iggy Pop, Annie Lennox, Paul Mccartney (nooo!!), Mick Jagger, Kate Bush, Debbie Harry (not her style though), Marianne Faithfull or Amanda Lear (lol). Tina Turner!!

There's really many people I'd be here for a Kate Bush performance with some Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger. I'm not into Annie Lennox this days.

Kate Bush doesn't like performing live.

Iggy Pop isn't really a GRAMMY-favourite artist.

Annie Lennox could have been, but she isn't as influenced by Bowie as Gaga is, despite her being her friend.

Those artists would be GREAT for a MusiCares: David Bowie. But it's the GRAMMYs. And let's not forget: Nile Rodgers was a Bowie's friend and worked with him and it's the director of the show.

I find it really odd to pick an artist that Bowie clearly didn't love for his own tribute.

Yeah, she should have kept her original performance

now she's taking risks again but I'm sure she will do a great job :)

Everything you said is true! This is the Grammys and for the Grammys, Gaga is the perfect choice. And yes, i mentioned on a comment above, we still have Nile Rodgers that links both worlds. It's kinda one of the the rare occasions the Grammys pay a fitting Hommage and don't throw some 3rd rate performances from teen pop stars (well, it hasn't happened..but we know it'll slay!!)

This is the most exciting thing that Gaga has done since Bad Romance, I am super excited and just love it that this honor was placed at Gaga's feet. I think that our girl will deliver in spades!

Gaga is the most exciting performer around and this occasion needs just that.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
