What should Gaga wear for the Bowie tribute?

So the rumor is that Gaga was asked to perform at the Grammys and pay tribute to David Bowie...

What should she look like and what should she wear?

Something classy, something crazy? Should she channel Bowie or would she get backlash for that? Lightning bolt on ha face yes or no? Red Ziggy hair maybe?

It was amazing to see her dressed as Sinatra and act like him, but I think going too far is not smart in this case...

I don't think she'd get backlash if she wore the lightning bolt on her face. It's a tribute so i don't think emulating him is a bad thing :)

Lightning bolt on her face a la The Fame and maybe a subtle outfit harkening back to Ziggy or the Thin White Duke.

Or maybe a powder blue suit like Elsa Mars in her Bowie tribute on Freakshow?

I'm low key wishing she'd perform a Just Dance/Space Oddity medley with ha iconic thunderbolt JD look:laughga:

but I believe she won't be doing any tributes though:neyde:

If its really her doing the tribute, she should approach it with subtlety, not only to show respect, but also to avoid offending his fans...maybe just a more androgynous look in a black suit.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Do you think if she goes all out and dresses like Ziggy Stardust with red hair that she'd get backlash for that?  At times I think she totally would and then there are times when I think it would be so f*cking epic.  So, I guess I'm undecided on what I'd like her to wear or look like that day.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

I think if she decides to wear the lightning bolt they should make an intro video where they'd explain why they picked her and how Bowie was one of her biggest inspirations, then put pics from The Fame era when she used to wear the lightning bolt all the time etc...

I feel like a complete "transformation" into Ziggy - or any of Bowie's personas - could be interpreted as an homage, but it could also be taken as an appropriation of a recently deceased man's work...meaning, it could go either way, but if it went well, it would produce just an ok result; if it went wrong, it would be a huge effing mess...

If she is really part of the tribute, it's far more sensible to wear something that relates to his work, but without exactly taking a page from him...that's why I though of the androgynous-ish look (Bowie had an inclination for that kind of thing for years) and the dark suit (which one could relate to many phases of his career, from "The white thin duke", to most of his wardrobe through "Young americans", to some of his late years work).

Maybe this hair and make-up + a suit like that...

I think that would be an elegant, subtle and respectful route, that would also allow her to look beautiful (which we know is good for her image)...
