Really dark french humour does not translate well i am afraid. Do you think that a culture is uniformly widespread everywhere in a geography even if it is the most mainstream one ? Even if it was so, do you think that it would have the same exact effect on everyone ? Even if it had the same effect, do you think that everybody would express it in the same way ? I could say "ohhhh this is so offensive" "owww I am very saddened by your racist comment" but no. You're going to learn how worthless you are. Your "feeling" will be that you're pathetic because it is so obvious that you world is narrow, reactionary and intellectually unsophisticated. End of Story. The facts speak for themselves. These refugees and migrants have a culture. This kid would have grown up taught this culture. It is not a culture that's acceptable to western society. Sorry but when I read you I feel we don't live on the same planet, do you think immigrants and people with mix background who adjust well don't actually exist? That a Syrian kid growing up in Germany is not going to be influenced by German culture? Because that sounds like the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. I mean, I come from a ridiculously small town with a grate rate of descendants from the Maghreb and trust me they aren't just arabs, they are a mix of French and arabic culture, and this is just one example, I mean look at the US it's a country built on melting pot. You talk about Western culture as the holy grail and Syrian as beneath us but take a look at what western countries do. If Syria exists it's because and French and a Brit drew a map of the Middle East together, and western countries were very fond of colonialism, stealing ressources, created conflicts in this area and I could go on and on... until refugees came knock on their door. Now they show the true face of racism being judgemental of countries they don't know much of because first they couldn't care less unless they bring them something and because of distorted view regarding the barbaric oriental. So excuse me but thinking western culture is so great is a bit of an illusion..every culture have great and bad aspects. The truth is we don't know how those kids will grew up but for sure if they are treated like **** they aren't going to be so thankful toward western culture. I could care less if this paper uses religious figures in their cartoons, as they have every right to do so in a free society...but this particular cover is extremely distasteful and offensive.
