Charlie Hebdo recently made this super insensitive caricature linking sexual assaults in Cologne to syrian baby whose dead body was found on the beach in summer. And I also despise the fact that they directly link immigrants to perverts, and depict them with pig-monkeyish noses. I am probably the least politically correct person on this website but I never saw such racism in this type of immature form like are you elementary school kids, wtf ?!?! I know that for most parts caricatures are famous for their dry humour often by crossing the red lines in a way a decent person would never do offline. And I defend their rights to do so even if they offend lots of people. But from my view, bringing the memory and emotions that surround a dead child under the spotlight to grab people's attention is way too contemptible. Freedom of Speech is not limitless. Mocking a dead person publicly is a criminal act. Caricature says: What would little Aylan become if he could have grown up ? "Tripoteur de fesses" in Germany. Is my translation correct ? It's TRIPOTEUR (no "R" after the O). It wasn't created by Charlie, just common language for grabbing, touching. The sketch is tasteless, but then again it's Charlie Hebdo, they've always been famous for that. I think people should spend more time and energy finding solutions to tackle real threats. But then i read the post a little more thoroughly. I mean, its perpetuating a stereotype and that does nothing to help create a better world, so I'm against it. I know its Charlie Hebdo, but there's gotta be some kind of responsibility in the media to not do this because of the greater influence they have. If I'm not mistaken, back in the day white people used to make propaganda about african american men raping white women. So this reminds me of that and its ignorant. All the problems or crimes you mentioned have a direct massive impact on animals' or people's lives, they all matter. A sketch or a joke, as tasteless as it may be, is not a crime and does NOT impact in the same way: it may hurt one's feelings but that's it. Period. I can not deal with any person who would make a joke out of a poor defensive individual, something at the mercy of others. I am against censorship, unless it involves children or animals abusively.
