I just made the connection between David Bowie's "Let's Dance" and Gaga's "Just Dance" being similar titles and similar in content. So I looked to see if there was any existing mixes of the songs and sure enough DJ Earworm had already created one. Check it out!

Nice :)

I was thinking about this bc I just read that his first big hit was with Let's Dance, and... that's the same as Gagz with Just Dance. I found that fascinating. Did she get the idea from Bowie of what could smash? She's said she worked and worked to get the first hit song

hmmm, is it just me, or the songs don't really work that well together?

There's too much going on

lol That reminds me, when I was first starting to become a Lady Gaga fan, I kept calling Gaga's Just Dance, Bowie's Let's Dance :toofunny:

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I think Gaga's auto-tuning throws it off, to be frank.

That, too. But it's like the beat changes every now and then... I don't know. It wasn't really pleasant :ohno:

hmm idk. Let's Dance was not Bowie's first big hit though lol. It was his #1 song in 1983, he had had a #1 with "Fame" in 1975, as well as a few other Top 10s in the 70's. His album Let's Dance was his first platinum album though, so maybe that's what you read?

But the coincidence of "Just Dance" being her first hit along with the lightning bolt imagery is intriguing

Oh I see! I heard this on this mini video by a Norwegian reporter :rip:

I totally forgot about that being from Just Dance, such a flop... That makes it too intriguing, so intriguing to me that it's very clear now that she did get very inspired once again. Reminds me of the MJ and MDNA references in Marry The Night at the end of the video.

But this kinda was more than a reference bc of the songs name and content too hmm
