Didymus 34,380 Posted January 8, 2016 Share Posted January 8, 2016 Gunmen opened fire at the entrance of a hotel in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Hurghada this evening, wounding two foreign tourists, security sources said. One of the injured was from Denmark and the other from Germany, the sources said. Security forces repelled the assault after killing one of the gunmen who was wearing a suicide bomb belt. An Arabic news channel says the gunmen have been shot (dead) and the suicide belt was destroyed. AP says only one gunman was killed and the tourists have been wounded by the men using knives instead of guns, so it's all still a bit confused. What is fairly certain is that a Danish and a German tourist are wounded (no info about the state they're in) and at least one of the terrorists is killed.
