Muslim woman attacked & robbed at her children's public school in Toronto

Toronto police say they are treating a brazen assault on a Muslim woman near an elementary school in the Flemingdon Park area as a hate crime.

The woman was picking up her children from Grenoble Public School on Monday when she was attacked by two men, police told 680 NEWS and CityNews.

Police said the incident occurred around 3 p.m. near Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

The two men approached the woman and started hurling anti-Islamic and racist profanities at her.

Police said the men started calling the woman a “terrorist” and said “go back to your country.”

One of the men started punching the woman in the stomach and a second man ripped off her hijab during the assault. The woman yelled for them to stop.

It is always like this that the big groups of people are judged not by the overal behaviour, but by the misbehaviour of the individuals, sadly. It does not apply only to Muslims. I'm sorry for this woman.

Oh wait nope this didn't happen in America it happened in socialist Canada and not a single hate crime has occurred in the U.S. post-paris attack against a Muslim man or woman so why is all the rhetoric on this cult site against the "islamophobic US"????

Wow i lived in Toronto for a short period of time and I'm really surprised to read that. People there are raised to be very smart and tolerant.

It is purely hateful, but it is just so much more hardening that any man would do this to a woman especially. I fear that this will seem a regular occurrence after awhile. People all over seem to be losing it.
