Yanko 9,860
he direct sonic influence is hard to find, but one of the chief inspirations for 25 was Madonna's Ray of Light. "You know what I found so amazing about that record?" Adele says. "That's the record Madonna wrote after having her first child, and for me, it's her best. I was so all over the place after having a child, just because my chemicals were just hitting the ****ing roof and **** like that." She felt detached from her artistic self. "I was just drifting away, and I couldn't find that many examples for myself where I was like, '****, they truly came back to themselves,' until someone was like, 'Well, obviously, Ray of Light.'" Adele listened to it over and over, and was particularly captivated by "Frozen." "I took that song as 'I've gotten my confidence to come and do me again.' " http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/adele-inside-her-private-life-and-triumphant-return-20151103?page=3 glad that adele was inspired by the most influential female artist of all time

LebaneseDude 6,146
None of Gaga's albums sound like ROY The poster meant that Lady Gaga's albums were also inspired by Madonna but she was labeled a copycat rather than being praised for it. lego 44,165
She was captivated by Frozen. Yeah Frozen is a great song and I used to love her San Remo performance until I realized it was playback. Is there any good live performance? LoveandMagic 1,731
Ray of Light Frozen Also Adele looks gorgeous here and I'm so excited for the album! Btw, her cover looks a lot like the Gaga cover on the other thread, very minimalist, lack of make up, etc. I'm noticing a trend here, I wonder if the current music scene is going to be very much "less is more" approach to production, visuals, performances, etc. EDIT: and no, I'm not saying Adele copied Gaga or vice versa, I just saw a pattern with Rolling Stone covers. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
InTraumatica 5,786
Adele is too basic to make ROY 2.0. Her lyrics are cheap (and overrated). She can't even compare simplicity of Hello to rich in symbols and metaphors ROY

Gaga's cover for RS Italy is just taken from that recent fashion book, I forgot the name, where she had that black veil and Iron Maiden shirt. Oh. Ok then. I thought maybe there was some music trend going on at the moment (I'm always the last to notice these things). Well, can't complain, both covers are great!
