I didn't even know it was a thing to go to kickstarter to fund the production of an album. Money or not, making a good album isn't something that is easy. I thought this was about the TV station for a second and was confused Still confused though. I didn't even know it was a thing to go to kickstarter to fund the production of an album. Seems like something a pair of "living legends" should be able to do without it They're broke, that's the problem. TLC has some infamy for being utterly screwed when it came to money. I funded the production of Amanda Palmer's last record and I was really impressed with the product I received. Sites like Kickstater and Patreon are great options for independent artists, but I also think think it's great for "living legends" who have large fan bases but no chance at achieving the mainstream traction they once had. They can give the art straight to the people who actually want it, without having to jump threw record label hoops. The key is honoring your deadline, but more importantly honoring the people funding your project...which TLC doesn't seem to be doing. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
