Bad Bromance 5,809
Donatella makes me want to get up and start dancing like crazy! That song puts me in such a good mood, especially when I'm working out. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

SKANK 14,288
Irony at it's finestIt's really not ironic. Lyrically she is just using outrageous imagery like she always does, she isn't using it satirically or sarcastically. She is being literal. She is literally celebrating Donatella perception as a rich, skinny, b---h.When she sings about slapping honey on a young pancake or when she sings about honoring her vomit she is using absurd imagery. When she says, walk down the runway but don't puke, that isn't a satirical indictment of the fashion industry, she is just using ridiculous imagery. When Katy Perry first heard the line he my heart and then he ate my brain in "Monster" she called Gaga a shock-jock, and she is right. Gaga constantly uses ridiculous and shocking lyrical imagery in the exact same way she uses fashion.Donatella was a pre-made instrumental that Zedd had lying around, Gaga heard it, she slapped on some absurd lyrics, and a kitsch dance song was born. It's not the Screw Tape Letters, it's not Colbert or Python, it's an intentionally vapid pop song.To enjoy Donatella we don't have to pretend it's a satirical masterpiece worthy of a Peabody. Not everything Gaga does it genius and layered in social commentary. Sometimes you have to take her music at face value and not use satire to justify vacuous nonsense. FGGrayson 9,670
One of my favourites from the album. This and Fashion get so much hate but I've never understood it. Gagz 2,579
Gaga fans generally pull the satire-card in order to justify some of her less then thought provoking projects. In reality Donatella belongs with Starstruck, Jewels N' Drugs, So Happy I Could Die, and a few others on the pile of filler tracks that are fun to dance to but ultimately throw-away pop songs. So Happy I Could Die does not belong in this list. Blue Jeans 3,815
Your projecting your own interpretation onto the song. Gaga claims the song is a love letter to Donatella. She uses lyrical exaggerations in a humorous way to celebrate Donatella's extreme lifestyle, not to mock the public's perception of Donatella. Donatella is a vain creature, it's not satirical to suggest that. By the way, I'm not saying it's a bad song or that it's bad to like it. I'm just saying, lets not pretend it's deeper then it is. It is Satire "I really wanted this to be about Donatella Versace and something that we both have in common is this feeling of being misunderstood but instead of hiting back at everybody about it, i'm sort of making fun about what they say about the both of us. Its just kinda of ludicrous and over the top and ridiculous sort of nothing that you'd never want anyone to write about you as a person but they write about us this way all the time, so instead of allowing it to make us feel smaller i'm shouting it from the roof-tops over this bone crushing beats" Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen
Miky 9,491
Donatella is one of my favorites from ARTPOP actually. While I think the verses are quite weak melody-wise, the chorus is amazing, the combination of anger and b---hiness with the part that comes after it which sounds like gods are singing And I really don't get why people say it's the "gayest" song on the album. I'm straight and I LOVE it. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
