Luiz 4,253 Posted October 27, 2015 Share Posted October 27, 2015 Murder rates have increased sharply across the US in 2015, with at least 30 cities reporting a rise in violence.Experts say factors may vary from city to city, but no-one really knows what has caused the trend, which was first identified this summer.The latest figures obtained by the New York Times show Milwaukee has seen the biggest rise, with a 76% increase.It is followed by St Louis, Missouri, which has seen a 60% increase, and Baltimore, Maryland, with a 56% rise.Some senior police officials say that heightened scrutiny of use of force by officers may have caused them to withdraw from everyday policing and emboldened criminals.But others say an increase in gun ownership, a spike in gang-related killings and more young people settling disputes with guns may be contributing factors. While it is unclear what has led to the sharp increase, some say it can be attributed to "the Ferguson effect" - the theory that police officers have been withdrawing from everyday enforcement due to fears they could be charged.It follows a nationwide debate over the police's use of force and race relations in the wake of the fatal shooting of black teenager Michael Brown by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, last year.But others argue that while this may be the case for some local populations in St Louis and Baltimore where racial tensions have been high, it does not explain the nationwide surge.Violent crimes are mostly driven by social factors such as the size of the youth population, the amount of socioeconomic disadvantage and social disorganisation in a given city.http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-34120247 I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. So much red tape and bass ackwards things when trying to do anything with the government, even working out my insurance that's covered by the city is so much of a pain that I don't even bother going to the doctor anymore.The citizens are idiots. 48% voter rates. We hate the government but does anyone get off their ass when an election comes and goes? Nah! My cheetos might get stale, bruh! Plus my show is on!What's the best reaction when someone upsets you? Talk it out rationally? Move on? No, man, you dust off the gun rack and load that guy up with lead! Then you can have the GOP defend you by saying you're "mentally challenged" not just some criminal who had easy access to a tool that made killing as simple as flexing your finger.We can't fund science programs like NASA or our education program, or even help out college students willingly because that would take away from the trillions that we spend on bombs, tanks, missiles, guns, and meat shields - I mean - brave men and women to protect our political and monetary interests fight terrorism and keep America safe!What is the police force proud of? Stopping crime? Helping save lives? No, they like to flaunt their NEW TANK! THE COPS LITERALLY HAVE TANKS! People are killing others openly but who's serving life in prison?
