Is Gaga able to debut a single and slay everyone like Adele?

why no??? Adele was out of the music like about 4 years and she had a great comeback.. Lady Gaga is constantly in music.. So... of course!!!! Gaga gonna slay our asses with LG5... :proud:

More impressed with Taylor releasing an album every two years and having TS3, TS4, and TS5 all slay. Adele is like Gaga waiting 4 years after TFM or Taylor 4 years after Fearless. Or course her comeback is big, but how long and sustainable?

She can gain massive success, but it wouldn't be as big and easy as Adele.

Look at Adele, she just announced the release date and,,, then the single :) nothing else, She's slaying right and left now.

Gaga would need A LOT  more than that actually.

Didnt DWUW had the record for most country #1s before Hello snatched it? And it was a promotional turned second single track and no vid.

I think she can slay harder. She just needs good music.

And for f's sake, she should drop the practice of 'release single, vid 2-3 months later' like I don't know who came up with that but stahp. :saladga:

it wasn't laaaahv

This topic discussed EVERY time another big artist is high on the charts. Literally every time.

Stop waiting for Gaga to "slay." It's so cliché of this fanbase to ask this question now after 4 ****ing years of asking it.

And for the record, no. It's not going to happen. The Oscars and all of the awards in the world don't change the fact that Gaga's POP appeal is not as massive as it was between Alejandro and Born This Way. It's not negative. It's basically a fact.

Not if the song is about her being famous once again (applause, gypsy, donatella, etc.).  if she can make a song that's relatable then maybe

No, but Gaga doesn't need to outdo everyone all the time.

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

I think her comeback will be big after 2015's success, but not as big as Adele. Not even close tbh.

She's too polarizing. Adele is universally liked a la Gaga in 2010.

Wow I read all the comments and it really gets me down. Like if we don't believe in Gaga who will? :wtf:  (I am speaking in general, on topic - I also don't believe that her next lead single can become instantly that big, but let's wait and see. It'd be interesting to see 25 sales and how the consequent singles perform)

Back to the general feel in this thread - the same thing happened with ARTPOP when tbh the biggest bashing happened in the fan community, the "gp" didn't really get to hear the album...

But I think one very important point hasn't been brought up yet into the discussion and it is the vast difference between the nature of Gaga's artistry and Adele's one. I think both are super talented and already great names in the music world but many of you are underestimating Gaga's passion, obsession and power of transformation. Just look at her from BTW to ARTPOP to C2C and non-music related projects. She has rebuilt herself and learnt very valuable lessons. Her passion to create will keep her going no matter how her work resonates with the audience.

And, Gaga has always been a controversial person, one that polarised the audience from the very beginning. She never wanted to have the mass appeal a la Adele. (c'mon even during TF/TFM even though most people were crazy about her music, she was criticised for her outfits and persona).

Adele, on the other hand, had sth interesting to say imo:

There also was a period when I just thought, 'Maybe I should just go out on a high? Maybe people have heard enough of me? Maybe that's all they want to hear. I didn't want to come back with anything that people wouldn't like.

As much as I like Hello, that line annoyed me. I think that kind of strategy has a very limited lifetime. She can pull another album with the same heart-breaking songs, but people will get tired of her being the same... It simply can't last forever.

So, in a nutshell, I think rn Gaga has very good perspectives in terms of longevity and we shouldn't rule that out just because she lost momentum 2012-2013:kisses:

Poor you :giggle:

The delusion of a fan base, everyone. :saladga:

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?
