I dont see anything special in this no shade tbh. I don't enjoy her screamy vocals and critical acclaim means **** to me. Especially these days and especially regarding pop music. 

But if it was career defining for you and Twitter left to right, then ok you're not very demanding

I feel that Demi has genuine talent and wants to be respected, but her way of going about it doesn't seem genuine and often falls short of her hopes so people don't take her seriously. And it's gotten to a point where seeing her as a joke is a bit of a meme/inside joke in the Pop fanbases, so we get stuck in this rut of always referring to Demi by the things that cater to the idea she's not someone to take seriously. That being said, I'm happy she's getting some widespread positive attention. I don't know how she handles the type of attention she gets from the Pop community, tbh.

I honestly didn't like the album on first listen, and sometimes she comes across as trying a bit too hard, but I cannot deny that the vocals were absolutely fantastic on SNL. Very very few people can surprise me with strong vocals like she did. In a world of Taylor Swifts and Katy Perrys, the girl actually has talent, but she just needs better material. She's serving Jessie J 2.0 right now: good vocals, bad songs.

Lionheart, Stone Cold and Father a listen 

Especially Lionheart everyone on GGD loves it even the Demi hatters , you'll be amazed with the vocals on that song !!!

P.s Demi should have released Lionheart as a promo single instead cause it shows off her vocal capabilities more than Stone Cold.

Good for her!  Her new era is shaping up nicely. I liked Confident and CFTS and her voice is nice, so I don't have a problem with this. She seems to be working hard with her promo so I'm glad it's all working out for her. :)

Also,  she's been getting a lot of praise,  left to right in twitter.  Ha career defining performance indeed.  Gaga Oscar performance teas (still probably more famous than Demi's but it's  fine)!  

#DemionSNL was also the number 1 trending topic WW that time!  

GGD can keep hating and discredit her,  but she'll keep getting that praise from the critics and GP.

If this was a career defining performance, Demi is in trouble then, because this song barely moved on iTunes. It definitely isn't the best performance on SNL, as many other artists have had their songs and albums fly to number one after SNL. That's how you know the GP responded to the performance. 

It was a good performance. Leave it at that.

Barely? I don't think that's barely.  Also,  SNL audience are mostly adult and currently Demi hasn't succeed yet to change his demographic, they're mostly kids and teens rn but the problem is her album isn't catered anymore to them.    Once the album take over,  she'll start having many adult fans.
