I think the backdrop during this portion of the show is composed with artworks submitted by fans, so there's a good chance Madonna has no idea about this situation. But now that the original artist has complained, they obviously should do something.

1. The OP post has been removed. Why I wonder? Just know that nobodys legal team can remove these kinds of posts without reason. Hello freefom of speech. Either he has been compensated IF by mistake his work had been used without authorization or he was lying...

2. You need to understand quotation rights. Thats how montages are made everyday everywhere by everyone. Montages never show credit. It would be impossible. Madonna has made THEM many times, so have million others.

3. This case is probably just a simple mistake. Madonna's team probably thoughed and might have even asked that The person who made The pic had rights to use The original artwork or it was done under quotation right. That's plenty of due dilligence. In any case, matter has been resolved since The OP post is removed. Either M's team had The right to use it and The artist was hungry for attention or The artist has since been compensated and has given M permision to use his work.

4. ALL in ALL, its 100% sure that M is not stealing anything on purpose! Why on earth would she do it? She has always been a very known art lover and collctor. This was for loving tribute to fans. IF there indeed was a violation of copyright, it has been properly now handeled. Im sure that it eas a mistake. Its disgusting how ppl just attack Madonna for this! Again, think IF Gaga's team would have made this mistake?

But in any case, ofcourse its wrong to use others work without credit. So in this case its a mistake or we don't know ALL.

Madonna didn't copycat anyone, it was a f*cking fancontest for artwork to be used in a video. As Gaga did before and as tons of other artists have done before them. There just happened to be 3 images from the same fan (shown at the same time) that use images apparently by an actual artist/painter/whatever who is now mad. Was Gaga a copycat for putting the Mona Lisa on a dress and wearing it? Should Leonardo DaVinci sue her from the grave? It was a f*cking fan contest and the argument could be made (as tons of Little Haters on here have done) that Madonna's team should've checked all of the fan artwork for traces of copyrighted images but let's fact it, no one would bother. Neither did Gaga because I had my fan collage featured in the Monster Ball 1.0 when Gaga did the fan-work background and I used copyrighted Warhol paintings with Gaga's face inserted. So you and all of the other moaners in this thread can leave. Madonna did nothing wrong and is probably still unaware of this entire situation. It's a 1 second blip in a huge fan montage, not an entire song that became a single like Taylor's song (I wasn't even aware of a copycat thing there and I don't care, but it's def. not on the same level.)
