Interesting you say that, since i moved to Montréal I have never had that much "race talk" in my entire life! It's like the only topic to talk about, I didn't imagine it was such a big deal here and some community are segragating themselves... weird. And they call Europe racist (people who have been to Paris once lol)...when we don't even use the word race 

That's actually true. The word Rasse (race) got socially banned from German vocabulary. I never heard someone say Rasse unless it's about WW or the human race in general.

no offence but Quebec culture wise is its own thing from the rest of Canada.

How is that? The people that made a big deal of it were anglophone though and possibly not from Québec and when I told to quebecers they weren't getting why it was such a big deal.. but yes I know it's pretty different and they want independence and honestly i can understand why.

Well race is France can be used by it's true definition so as you say te human race and maybe...maaaaybe you can say ethnical group but that's touchy and can be seen very racist so the easiest is to mention the person skin color or ancestry and that's still sensitive. We don't have any data collecting ethnical background and such because of fear of racism and it being used by far right and such.. like immigrants profiling...which was done during WWII pretty much

I just asked how because I have not been in the other part of Canada, sorry if it sounded like arguing.

Maybe it's different I can't deny that but it's just that since I came here I met many people who have a lot of assumptions about Europe yet have never been there and think it's like the worst racist place on Earth when it's more complicated because racism express itself in many ways. I know it's not your case because I know your background and maybe in your city it's different but here you can see the difference between anglophone and francophone , they don't mix and they have a pretty different culture so I understand why they want to separate because they don't want the same thing for Québec that the rest of Canada wants for the rest of Canada.

I am not saying it's viable but from a cultural point of view it makes sense. If you ask where I move from, I moved from Denmark after living there 2 years and before that other places in Europe but originally I am from France.

yeah hundreds of thousands of people will just pack up and abandon their lives to go to a ****tier country because of hate crimes..........

I agree that it's an issue but obviously every country has people that hate jews,muslims,christians etc.. Hate based on religion won't disappear until religions don't disappear

This makes it really hard to believe Germany is some innocent nation trying to forget about its totally different past.

We aren't innocent. There are still way too many people partly agreeing with hate toward different religions, cultures and nations. Most of them would never say it out loud but nationalist parties are still there (and rising). It may be only like 5% of the total population but through their actions and the attention they get in the media they damage the public image in terms of positive and open-minded values the big majority of the German society has today...

wanting to do it and actually doing it are completely different things tho, i want to move to norway,sweden or belgium but that's a really big step in life and i'm not sure if i'm capable enough to do it.
