"Police say they may yet charge him with making a hoax bomb — though they acknowledge he told everyone who would listen that it’s a clock."

How can they do this when he never said it was a bomb?

They are idiots. First teacher saw it and knew it was a home-made clock and said not to show it to others. Why? Because of his name and religion.

"Yup. That's who I thought it was."

“We have no information that he claimed it was a bomb,” McLellan said. “He kept maintaining it was a clock, but there was no broader explanation.”

???

"Meanwhile, Ahmed is sitting home in his bedroom, tinkering with old gears and electrical converters, pronouncing words like “ethnicity” for what sounds like the first time.

He’s vowed never to take an invention to school again."

Poor kid.

Literally punishing innovation. At least he has that engineering teacher who will probably support him.

Because they don't believe him.

Because he's a Muslim. He MUST be a terrorist!

but

"though they acknowledge he told everyone who would listen that it’s a clock."

hoax-bomb would be if he made a clock and made everyone believe it was a bomb. And that wasn't the case.

Oh my god this breaks my heart.

No one deserves that kind of treatment and profiling. He looks so scared in the photo. This world is so ****ed up.

Why would he be arrested right away though? Wouldn't a bomb sqaud or something have to come in in order to confirm that it was a bomb?

It's science, bitch

They're acknowledging that he's insisting it's a clock, not accepting the validity of that statement. It's a mess.

That's the way to kill that kid's creativity and curiosity regarding inventions and technical craft!

Poor him. Hopefully that won't let him stop from doing anything he loves.

Guys this is no joke.

Kids love bringing weapons to school. Lest we forget the infamous pop-tart shooting of 2013 by an evil, malicious, second grade boy? http://www.cbsnews.com/news/examiner-recommends-school-board-uphold-pop-tart-suspension/

This kid obviously wanted to blow up his classmates ears with incessant ringing. If they don't charge him, where is the justice?

*Suspends boy for making a gun out of a Pop Tart*

*Government does nothing after many mass school shootings*

Why am I not surprised that this happened in Texas? I feel really bad for him :ohno:

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
