Ellen DeGeneres is launching a new footwear line "ED by Ellen" and they include leather boots and is manufactured in Brazil by the Camuto Group which is a billion dollar leather business.

A lot of fans and anminal activists are very upset since Ellen claims to be a vegan.

This is terrible. If she really is a vegan she should have nothing to do with animal products. I never expected Ellen to give up on her believes just for the sake of money.

It's also pretty clear that Ellen has yet to give her side of the story. I say wait it out and stop making assumptions. Clearly this was a poor move given her stance on animal products, but we don't know if there was miscommunication somewhere or something of the sort. Jumping to conclusions, especially when it comes to celebrities and scandals, rarely adds anything to the conversation.

Furthermore, it's pretty clear that this wasn't a money move because they almost immediately took down the products from her website. If this were really a money move she would've said something like, "I am doing this to give others the choice because my personal beliefs shouldn't dictate the lives of others," or something. Her veganism is pretty much integral to who she is, at least to those who are even vaguely aware of who Ellen is. There's no way someone of such a high profile would make an amateur move for the sake of money. Just wait it out and see what she says.
