No shade, serious question. Does anyone really care about prince anymore?

He has a few devoted fans, yes

I literally don't have clue who he is. If he's such a legend, then I would of known of him.

That's because people like you think they're smart, but only know about stuff that reaches them through their Facebook-feed. Prince IS most definitely a legend.

If you're going to be on this website and be a fan of Lady Gaga, at least know what inspired her. Queen, David Bowie, Madonna, Grace Jones, Michael Jackson, Prince, ... Look them up.

being a member of gagadaily and being a Lady Gaga fan doesn't mean you have to know what inspired her and who those people are. Just saying.

For the people saying "who", why don't you stop being rude and lazy and look him up yourselves? When or if you do, you will come to find that Prince is an amazing artist, has great music, and is considered and an icon and legend.

No he's not a R Kelly MJ wannabe, or a slutty/over the top female pop star. He's just someone who sold millions of records and decided to to a less commercial format.

Expand your musical palettes children. There's more to music than what YOU'RE comfortable with.

That is all. -DA

I'm thankful that my father EDUCATED me on music. I became a Prince fan almost 10 years ago.

Anyways, it's not a surprise album because it was listed on Metacritic's "Coming Soon" section for a while.

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

Well, I may be an album reviewer, but Prince is one artist who I'm definitely never going to even try reviewing because his ethics go against what people like me support - being able to listen to music for free so we can judge it to decide if it's worth buying or not. For those who don't know, Prince has been against any sort of site where you can listen to music for free, is against illegal downloading and tries to sue anyone who he deems to be stealing his music. He even sued a woman who put a video on YouTube of her son's birthday because there was a slight, faraway snippet of one of his songs playing in the background. Ok, fine, be against illegal downloading, but streaming is legal and fair use laws are also in existance. He doesn't have a clue about the way music operates in the modern world. I've only heard a handful of Prince songs in my entire life (nothing after 1991) and I can name very little of what he's done and it's partly because of how he removes any free way to listen to his music online besides the allowance of a few YouTube clips. He doesn't even upload his old videos to his Vevo page. I'm scared that if I do find a free way to listen, I'll get tracked down and sued or something. He also doesn't like anyone covering his work being put online either. If a contestant on a singing show sings one of his songs and it goes on YouTube, the audio can get muted. He even performed a version of Radiohead's Creep at a festival and a fan filmed it and put it online. Prince tried to get the footage taken down but Radiohead themselves actually fought back and insisted that because it was their song, they would decide who could listen to it and they wanted to make it free for the public to watch. That is how arrogant the man is - he even thinks singing a cover song means it somehow belongs to him and doesn't even ask the artists in question if it's ok to remove it.

He's within his rights to be against illegal downloading, that's perfectly understandable. But there are free, legal ways to listen to music and he can't wrap his head around that. It's ironic, because he put out his 2007 album, Planet Earth, for free through The Daily Mail in the UK. This was literally just before he became an anti-listener crusader. Proof people can indeed change overnight. Sorry, but music is so unreliable these days that I only buy music blindly by my absolute favourites and if you're not one of them, you're getting listened to for free first and let me tell you, very few make the cut. At least artists have a way of letting the sales give them an idea of how many actual fans they've got now unlike back in the day when selling 30 million in no way meant that 30 million loved your album. Prince clearly strives for the days when ignorance was bliss and you thought if you shifted copies, it meant the whole world loved you. Some people just can't move with the times.

Blah! Tidal exclusive? I guess I won't be listening it to it. A few days ago I was trying to play "Raspberry Beret" (along with other of his songs) on Spotify and he wasn't on there. I had listened to his music on there before and this explains it. Ugh, tidal.

On a shady note, why is Rita Ora on the album?!?!? I figured someone of his status  would collaborate with someone more respected. I feel like he's one of those people who doesn't collaborate much with other artists so I'm a bit taken back by her being on it.
