I'm not buying the idea of other fans learning from BTW.

If you're being nice to people because Gaga told you so, that's even more ridiculous. You should discover the value of kindness, bravery, tolerance,... on your own, in your life, from experience, not because some pop star made dubious references to them.

I don't want to write a huge essay, to make it short...everyone is different (different: friends, family, mentality, interests, appearance, knowledge,  fears,...) this leads to the point that you can't expect everyone to be at the same point in life,  that everyone comes to the same mindset.

It requires people to be reflective to notice a lot of things about themselves.

 

For Example: Someone has problems with family and friends, instead of saying what s/he really thinks they say what others want to hear, or something, -> bad communication -> they become grumpy and maybe some other problems occur in their life, often problems done by themselves. And thus they post negative things on gagadaily or somewhere else.

Once someone is set on drinking the haterade, there's basically nothing that could stop them except for an epiphany or a miracle. Yes, it's annoying to see constant hate, shade, disrespect, and pettiness, but that's a by-product of being on a forum. We just have to ignore these people or calmly and intelligently debate a point if we can. There's nothing else we can do. We can only strive to improve ourselves. In the end, I'd rather make myself look mature than stoop to someone else's foolishness.

for many people, she's not. just because she's unable to resonate with you on a level that is much more than the "pop star level," it doesn't make it a fact. the fact is that some people's connection with her is deeper and stronger than yours.

if you think of her as nothing more than just a "pop star" then that might be where the confusion begins. Of course Gaga can. She has helped SO MANY PEOPLE through her music, her speeches, her passion, and so much more. Obviously there's going to be a huge group of people who will just be there for the music and the lyrics will go one ear and out the other. But if she can, or has changed at least ONE person, then that's amazing. One person can't eliminate bullying from one song/album. But the overall message of this thread is that some fans have just totally lost any maturity or kindness that they may have developed or at least pretended to have during the BTW era. People started to get really catty and shady in the last couple of years and it's sad that the message from one of Gaga's biggest songs and albums has seemed to fade. She even continued it with the Body Revolution thing. And still is continuing it with the Born This Way Foundation. She's not just some singer who walks into a studio and records Vocals for a song that took 20 people to write. She works so hard and is more than just a singer. She's an activist. An artist. A performer. A dancer. An actress. And more. And she's helped so many people. I could go on forever. I guess it just bugs me when people say she's "just a pop star" because she's far more than that and that's why she's stands out infront of the other "pop girls".

If you're counting on a pop star to teach you manners and moral values then you should reevaluate your entire mentality because I can assure you that whatever is produced as a result of that is not genuine, nor organically taught.

i can assure you that it's basic psychology and biology. guess you never heard of the importance of role models. thus, it is a rather organic part of human nature.

I think it's kinda ironic that in the midst of that era some people seemed to completely shut that whole aspect of it out, though if we're keeping it real here some people are just really miserable, comfortable with that misery, and make others feel bad because they can't stand being around people who aren't as miserable as them.
