I think that there's a lot of hypocrites in this thread, always defending Gaga and everything she stands for, yet somehow seeming to forget that she advocates Online Kindness, and bashing members, fanbases, artists, etc., and simply use emoticons to hide behind their words. Oops!

 

Anyways, I think threads like this are unnecessary. You're not going to change the haters, or the people who outrightly bash Gaga. I do think however, that it is quite rude to generalize a group of people who didn't like ARTPOP, G#1G, etc., as trolls, haters, and not real fans. Telling people to get off because they don't like these things is quite rude, and it shouldn't be accepted :/ 

 

I think most members that dislike these things display their opinions in a respectable manner, which some of you seem to be forgetting. It's important to differentiate bashing and just, disliking a piece of work that someone has put out, or not enjoying as much as the previous work. Of course, there will be our little gems that really do TRASH Gaga, which is unacceptable. If you're not going to say it respectfully, don't say it at all

 

Overall, I think we should all watch our words as to not offend either Gaga or other members, and just take a deep breath and move on

In Every Social Forum  there are RULES and there is a particular word called FLAMEBAIT.

"FLAMEBAIT: It is a message posted to a public Internet discussion group, such as a forum, newsgroup or mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry, teasing, or overall negative response"

If we are in a fan site and specifically in a section dedicated to a particular Artist, you can't say what you want. there are rules. Its not censure its called Respect and Common Sense

You honestly think that posts downright bashing Gaga aren't getting warned? They are, trust me.

Just because you can't handle it when someone is negative about Gaga doesn't mean that all negative posts about Gaga are flamebait. I rarely see posts about Gaga that would be considered flamebait, most negative opinions are posted when they are asked for by a thread, in which case it's totally acceptable (unless it's bashing of course).

So I wouldn't be so quick to educate an actual moderator on forum rules when you clearly don't even understand them.

And how rude of you asking him to "get off GGD". That is an example of hate and passive aggressive behavior. How tolerant.

Thousands of people believe aliens contact with them regularly and how many believe that is not a proof it's a real issue.

I mean, am I the one who flicked people off and said we needed mental help? I already listed the things before, just search for them. And I didn't make any form of threat, and I did distinguish it before, which is why I addressed it here.

I'm sorry if my using of "mental" bothered you, but what I meant is, it's not healthy to focus on something so minor on this site that's barely noticeable. It's not a real problem on here at all.

But you may, of course, choose to focus on any kind of negativity you can see on this site, if you really want it that bad and think it's healthy. Just don't yell (CAPS, cursing and all that in OP) at people in the future, please, it's doing nothing good.

I'm just over this whole attitude people have about Gaga and Little Monsters. They always want to seem as if they BARELY like Gaga anymore, and say **** to try and seem edgy, and when an artist does something they always say that Gaga should've done it too, or Lana/Twigs/Taylor/Melanie is doing way better than Gaga. It's stupid. Or they'll say, that other artists are more interesting and want to turn Gagadaily into something it's not. Like if Gaga isn't your #1, or isn't even an artist that you admire greatly, than why even be on GAGAdaily.

This exactly.  It's so obnoxious when some "ex-fan" consistently posts shady things about an artist on their own fansite. If you're doing that, it's clear you're still interested in some capacity because most regular, sensible people would just cease posting and actually move on. I feel like these people just want an outlet in their life to whine and try to make people feel as miserable as they do. And/or they get a kick out of changing the general mood, it's attention *****-ish and manipulative AF. 

I have no problem having an actual worthwhile, mature discussion about Gaga and her music, and yes, that includes opinions that aren't all sunshine and roses, but there's such a clear difference between that and those people who just want to rudely **** on everything Gaga does just to defiantly play devil's advocate.

Genuine fans can dislike things Gaga has done. That's to be expected. At least they're still here for Gaga in general, and they make up the majority of the members here.

However, Some people really have no place here, but they're in the minority.  They still have their right to be here as long as they're not a rule-breaker. It doesn't make sense to me, but whatever floats their boat. 

I don't know how the forum was prior to joining it, but so far I've seen more love and constructive criticism for Gaga than destructive criticism. Remember that it's usually not what you say, it's how you say it. Meanwhile, some people can be disrespectful and act like this:

If they bring up a point you can debate, then do it. Otherwise, just let them stew in their own hate and move on.

There are members who clearly are here just  for hating on Gaga and they "like" their posts each other. Clearly they are here just "to defend" their Fav (well known to all). and That is called Flamebait because They are inciting violence all the time

They always use excuses like "it's called an opinion" to bash Gaga without getting warned while others get warned for making reductive JOKES about other pop stars. It is so frustrating.

No offence but the one who made the "im over Gaga" thread was definitely not a stan but a casual fan. I've been constantly entertained by Gaga throughout the year because I have a soul to listen to jazz and ARTPOP 

like lol too bad Gaga spent an entire year promoting and performing an album you do not enjoy I mean 

Who won the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 2015 Grammys, duh? If you won't put any effort or open your mind to accept new things, you are going to have nothing to enjoy in your life. I never listened to jazz before Cheek to Cheek and I embraced it with an open mind guess what? I love it and I'm happy throughout the year when some fans who won't free their mind (ARTPOP, you make my heart stop :fat: sorry couldn't help it), are frustrated because Gaga spent months or years promoting something they are unable to enjoy.

Do you guys want a detailed thread explaining what we consider flamebait? It's a word you guys seem to throw around a lot. That's something we could think about doing if enough people think it's necessary. 

There is a huge difference between flamebait and a negative opinion.

At the end of the day, we don't warn opinions we disagree with or let opinions we do agree with slide. For example, I liked C2C but I'm not going to warn someone for saying something along the lines of 

"I find Jazz so boring, I wish Gaga would stop covering these old songs, I'm really not interested in Gaga at all right now she isn't exciting and interesting like she once was..."

It's a negative opinion, and not one that I agree with, but this is a forum. People are going to express opinions and sometimes they are going to express opinions that the majority disagree with. That's really the main point. We aren't going to start censoring unpopular or negative opinions, that defeats the entire purpose of a forum. You can like or dislike anything Gaga does or anything any other artist does, it's about putting your point across in a respectful way.

If someone writes something like:

"I LOVE Cheek to Cheek! Sorry to all you basic pop fans, you just have bad taste in music and you are going to have to suck it up!! Queen Gaga slays all you lessers. Go stan for Katy because we don't want you here you stupid little teen twinks!"

Is likely to get warned because, even though I also love C2C, they are insulting the tastes of other members and calling them stupid. It's a positive opinion on Gaga, but not said in a particularly respectful way.

In fairness, even if I come across opinions that I completely disagree with, I'd personally prefer that to everyone holding the exact same opinion. Could you imagine how boring it would be here if everybody was just in constant agreement? There would be no room for any discussion. 

So if you dislike something Gaga, Madonna, Katy, Britney, Beyonce, Taylor, Miley, Rihanna or anyone has done then fair enough. Everyone has different tastes and people are going to disagree on certain things. Just write your opinion in a respectful way ( "I don't like this music video at all, I hate music videos that do this ________ I just find it tacky" rather than "This music video is trash and this artist is trash")

I think there are some members who need to remember that their favourite artist isn't the most important thing in life. If someone thinks that an artist you like is boring, no big deal, it doesn't make them a troll. If somebody thinks that an artist you dislike is amazing, no big deal, it doesn't make them delusional.

You can try and have a mature discussion with that person, but to resort to insulting artists or members is petty and pointless.
