Luc 4,776 Posted July 31, 2015 Share Posted July 31, 2015 i bet this slowly spreads through Europe, I can see it happening since LGBTQ+ rights are a big thing today to people, on par with racism and the white privilege debate (although i'd say it's hardly a debate when it's true but you catch my drift). It's a very common social discussion nowadays I find. Cis white hets seem to want to oppress everyone nowadays. Nah. In the country I live in only the theocrats still want to ban homos-xuality. I'm working in SchLAu (gay-lesbian education). We get invited by teachers and then we are teaching the students about s-xualities, gender identity and homo/trans-phobia etc. parties like AfD are thinking we are making the kids gay by saying it's okay to be gay. According to them who also happen to be religious fundamentalists think we are helper of satan Yeah it's stupid I know the party position on this and I know what russia regards as "homos-xual propaganda" but it's the most ludicrous thing I have heard.Essentially they want a law that is "We can't acknowledge or represent the LGBT community in anyway".Propaganda would be if the LGBT community aggressively promoted itself as the best and only way forward and tried to position itself as the only moral and true way to live. It would be the LGBT community trying to deny that hetros-xuality exists or that it's an immoral choice made by hetros-xual people. It would be creating a space where there is exclusively gay relationships depicted in mainstream media.Kind of like what right wing parties want to do for hetros-xuality.I've never seen a case of "gay propaganda" in my life. The national conservative Alternative für Deutschland’s (Alternative for Germany, AfD) Baden-Wuerttemberg faction unanimously decided on a ‘gender motion’ during their faction conference last weekend. ‘The Alternative for Germany strictly rejects any and all governmental propaganda – in schools, mass media or the public space – for certain s-xual orientations or behaviors,’ the motion reads. ‘Exempt is the promotion of the classic family.’ The document is a milder-worded version of a motion proposed in April, in which party members also spoke out against abortion and birth control. ‘The Alternative for Germany considers the political-bureaucratic and legal promotion, or rather the active mass media advertising for birth control, abortion and homos-xual behavior to be contradictory to the Germans’ vital interests,’ the April version read. Rainer Rösl, who is credited as the July motion’s author together with the faction’s deputy spokesperson Dr Marc Jongen, is a co-founder of the Pforzheimer Kreis (Pforzheim Circle), a workgroup for Christian party members. It is his problem and he got to change it for himself by thinking about it in a different way or just accepting it.
