I've never really understood "hunting for sport." I am surrounded by hunters. They hunt deer to decrease the population (plus they can hurt crops, etc), eat the meat, use the skin and horns, etc, so I guess they are doing it for the "right" reasons. Even they know the importance of not hunting animals in danger of regional depletion and seem to have some respect for the animal.

I don't know how "sporting" I would find it though to hide in a tree or moving vehicle with a gun and catch an animal unawares. Wouldn't it be more of a "sport" to battle them head on? A deer (or lion, rhino, etc) could maul someone, and I've had relatives chased by deer, but these individuals that go out into farms to "hunt" exotic (and often endangered animals), is it really even "hunting" anymore? And is the momentary "thrill" of a kill worth the loss of one creature of an endangered group?

I found this article, I don't know if it was ever posted here: http://www.vox.com/2015/7/28/9064325/cecil-the-lion

Basically the dentist said he had no knowledge that the animal he killed was beloved and that he placed his faith in his guides, but he still knowingly skirted the law. I believe him, but I don't feel much sympathy for him. I just don't understand the need to kill for ego, particularly such a majestic animal that was not presenting any danger to the group.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

I never understood how killing a creature can bring pleasure to people? If I accidentally kill something - for example a spider or something - I feel so bad, like, whilst the creature isn't human, it's still alive and trying to live its life in the same way that you and I are? How are we any different?

don’t you know my a** is famous

SKANK

So, aside from how atrocious this whole Lion situation is, I have to say it's refreshing to see a man be emotional on television. We need more people telling men that it's ok to cry.
