gagzus 15,831
I think this is the perfect example as to why she is a true musician tbh, she went over budget and played clubs EVERY NIGHT to make up for the extra money and she wouldn't get a dime, I think we all remember when she was always in gay clubs in 2008 till mid 2009 when she was beginning to truly peak. She was living for her music and her performances. I gotta admit I miss when she was performing and making music for the sake of performing like this. Didymus 34,379
Where did she go ffs. I wouldn't have minded a few extra pesos being put in the artRAVE. I imagine it would've looked a lot more exciting if she wasn't planning to buy a mansion.

Travis 543
Hard work pays off (most of the time) I don't know why some of you act like she isn't the same now. Throughout BTW she even performed in clubs, etc. and still went to gay clubs for the Applause release. I think she's still just as authentic with making music and performing it as she ever was. If anything that's evidenced in the C2C show with her just performing jazz standards - because she loves to be on stage.

Even if she ditched the guitars, the stage, wigs, outfits and decorations would still have looked cheap and completely subpar Some of her debut era performances looked more expensive. It just makes me a bit bitter when I think of the 23 million dollars she spent on a house she prided herself on not having in the past, because she was the kind of artist who spent all the money she made on her art. I understand it perfectly but she still lied to look superior and different when she's just like everyone else I need at least an acknowledgment of that from her. Jjang 2,262
I'm still shocked by the fact that she went flat broke during the Monster Ball Tour. Brave b---h, but yeah, surely not the case with the artRAVE.

Brave b---h.as i believe she only went broke when she made TMB 2.0 when she came to europe, hence why she stayed on her tour bus for most of the beginning of TFM era until she could afford hotels etc

But I don't think she ever lied to us. I think she believed everything she said at the time she said it. She just got older and now wants to and has the time to settle down more. You can't live the "I put all my money into my show and am constantly working" lifestyle forever. Its exhausting. I also don't think that buying a mansion and other luxurious things means she is in it for the money. Is that what you are saying? Of course she enjoys those things, anybody would. But being rich was never her motivation. For her its more of a (very positive) byproduct of her career.

This is very possible and I agree with it, my own post was more fuelled with bitterness than reason This is probably how it really went down, but I'd still like her to talk about that, that's what's so interesting. And she knows.. when Howard Stern confronted her about L.A. she gave the most awkward answer ever, she sort of kept her mansion hush hush from us and never talked about it. I understand why, because she'd have to admit she changed (I guess the "I love Hollywood" was a first step) but I'd still like to hear that from her. LoveandMagic 1,731
I can understand her wanting to settle down a bit now, but I hope next era we get to see a lot more spontaneous performances as well as the big promos. I think it's so cool when a mainstream artist has as much fun doing low key venues and bars as they do the big stages. A really good artist can make do with any size or audience, but I think people get more excited when a big name drops in to perform at some little event or club. Not everyone can afford the big shows. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
Mister Gaga 22,889
She's such a hard worker. I need to learn so much about her. My admiration and respect for Gaga is eternal

Gaga told Howard that she didn't like Hollywood or LA, but she knew that living there would be good for her depression. That isn't awkward, it is truthful. Sunny, warm climates are better for a lot of people with depression. Gaga obviously knows if she feels depressed during certain times of the year, so she made a choice to at least eliminate that issue. I assume that like most people, Gaga has the ability to change her mind once she tries something new. Have you never thought you wouldn't like something, but changed your mind once you tried it? You need an acknowledgment? Why? Are you her mother? She doesn't owe you or any other fan an explanation for living her life and spending her own money! But when Howard asked her if she was still depressed, she said "no" That awkward silence of confusion was there and it's still haunting me But anyway, the rest of your paragraph can sort of explain it. And yes, duh, but the difference, like I said in my previous post, is that she often used her previous points of view to set her apart from the other pop girls and to appear superior. That fell apart a little in my opinion. I totally get that she changed her mind, and she's not obligated to announce her departure from her earlier perspective to us, but I'd still like to know what made her change her mind. That is all

That is all Depression is something that comes and goes. She is actively doing the things she needs to do to not get back in that state. People with a history of depression need to take the steps to keep it under control. Clinical Depression and growing up and getting different priorities changed her mind. She now wants a house to come home to, one that she can share with her husband. People grow up in their twenties and oftentimes their priorities and outlook on the future changes.
