The rest as I see it is a misunderstanding (and I've already mentioned my views of how in the other thread, everyone is so eager to misinterpret in order to prove their own point) about specifics. Well you've presumably misunderstood my point there now I wasn't referring to you or anyone specifically misunderstanding what Lego was saying, moreso; For example, "racist state" (not saying Israel is one, it's just an example) could mean a multitude of different things (ie. does it imply it has racist figures in power, racist laws and legislation or that it's composed of racist people) and I think everyone can agree that in such controversial discussions people jump to use the definition which is most practical to their argument, without actually defining what they mean by phrases. If people are using different definitions, then yes in their arguments there will be fundamental misunderstandings as to what is being debated (which is why, as far as I know in proper debates terms are defined very specifically). It's just an example and probably doesn't even apply but it was just to showcase the sort of misunderstandings of wording that do occur. TiphEret 1,320 Posted June 24, 2015 Share Posted June 24, 2015 It's funny that on every Israel or Palestinian topic everyone needs to say "it's just one person don't judge the whole country" as if when it comes to this part of the world we left our critical thinking in the closet. yes we are well aware it's only one woman tweeting that and of course it doesn't define what all Israeli think. Would have it been a person from another country would that have been necessary to be said? I wonder...
