Madonna isn't be s-xy though, she's being trashy and childish... and this comes from a fan of Madonna. She's ruining her legacy and it's annoying me.

I know she did the medley with Billie Jean, that's why I said it

I'm not really trying to make her out to be a monster, just saying why I dislike her, that's all. Never said she was Satan-woman 24/7

Oh right, well doesn't that prove that in both cases she doesn't take things like that seriously :emma: She probably expected Gaga to take it on the chin in the same way she did with so many things, although maybe that was her being too assumptive

I don't know...if she didn't take it seriously, I don't think she'd still be on about it four years later...

If it was just EY/BTW then ok, that's cheeky, but the "She's Not Me" after, calling BTW reductive, saying stuff like "she blatantly copied me", "I like Born This Way, I'm glad I could help her write it", and "when I first heard it on the radio I said 'that sounds familiar'" it's just...ugh. They've both joked about it, but in all honesty Madge's ego actually has her believing that Gaga copied her. Unless she's honestly willing to talk about another artist like that, devaluing their music, just for a headline. In which case I'd have even less respect for her.

Regardless of Madonna's intentions, Gaga's feelings were hurt. At first, at least. I mean, she was one of Gaga's idols, I know she's not dumb enough to think that wouldn't hurt her feelings. I remember she sort of mentioned it at a show (the BTWB) during Hair. She had those little tears welling up and said something like "I thought we could be in this business and create and share our art and music without being cu*ts to each other". She didn't say any names, but I think everyone knew what she was referring to.

But it's whatever, you know? Hopefully they buried the hatchet at the MET Gala and fan bases can move on from the slandering and just respectfully agree to disagree. I'm only expressing my feelings on the matter and her, not really trying to bash her, and I hope no one gets the idea that I am :ohno:

There's definitely a possibility Madonna was short-sighted in how she expected other people (ie. Gaga) to handle it but she's not exactly known for holding back when it comes to anything :hunty: Having lost her mother at the age of five to cancer, a fragile relationship with her father, been in a massively abusive relationship (with police records being evidence) and forgiving him, as well as being raped at gunpoint and God only knows what else, Madonna's strength probably means that she doesn't realise how people who aren't maybe as strong take things.

The problem is that some fans still hold on to the BTW/EY thing as reasoning for a hatred (which is pitiful) when either misaligned or not, Madonna probably meant nothing more than a very recurring joke by it :emma: (the Ellen interview suggests that anyway). I don't think you're bashing Madonna though if that counts as anything, I'm just mentioning the other side of what could give less knowledgeable Gaga fans (on Madonna) an even more negative view on her :hunty:

I'm still unsure about how people can hate someone they've never even met :emma: I mean, aside from literally terrible people like rapists, murders, etc...I just dislike the woman for some nasty comments she made

See, I didn't even know about half those things. I knew she was raped and about her mom, but her strength is admirable, even if I don't like her personality, or rather, the persona that is "Madonna". Can't say I can blame her if she didn't think Gaga would just be "whatever" about it. She's hard to read :emma: We've seen her breakdown in tears before a show, saying she feels like a loser, and we've seen her getting puked on and saying she doesn't give a f*ck and neither should we. Maybe I was too harsh on ol' Madge. Nasty comments are inexcusable to me (since I like artists for who they are) but that's just her thing, I guess. The material girl with a b---hy but fun attitude.

Slay queen :sis:

But I'm asking why is it considered age appropriate? You either rock something like booty shorts are you don't. The purpose of booty shorts is to emphasize the legs and the butt. It's not really designed for age, but club or beach wear. It's like wearing a bikini. If your legs and butt look stellar you can rock it.

You use the word "mature." So in reference it sounds like you are saying that clothes and habits of many 20 year olds is immature to begin with? Personally a lot of clothing and habits of my peers I do find gaudy and trashy, so I agree I wouldn't want to behave that way as I become older, but that shouldn't make that sort of behavior or look any "cuter" on a younger person than an older individual. A 25 year old in a gaudy slinky dress doesn't look any more attractive  running around kissing random guys  isn't anymore attractive to me then an older person in the same outfit personally.

Kylie is 47 years old. She looks every bit of her forties to me. But she is still hot as ****. If she went to the club dressed in that awful **** I have seen so many of my friends wear, she would rock the **** out of it.

I am not calling you out or trying to start an argument, so I hope you don't think that way.

As a side note, I can't help but feel for so many here that put such emphasis on chronological age, and limit the desirability factor by a five or six year window. They are going to have such a melt down when they hit 30, and I don't even want to see the break down when they hit forty! I know I will rock those ages because I will be in a more stable place.

I don't find it cute when anyone twerks, that's my point. But I sense your rudeness, so yes, I believe we are done. Have a lovely day.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

these picture actually support what the original comment was saying that when she dresses age appropriate no one complains. She looks amazing in all these pictures.

She can wear what she wants, but first can she create music that herself deserves? She's Madonna, and what people can't accept is the fact that she's making these immature songs and looks immature. It's not just about clothes. And that btw/ew thing? Get over it. She knows the consequences and pushed with it but tbh I felt like it wasn't serious. She was just playing around and it's up to you to respond.

I get the point hes making and I can't say I disagree with it entirely.

That being said, I think people get it all wrong. The issue shouldn't be the fact that Madonnas trying to be s-xy and/or scantily clad. People should just take issue with the fact that shes being aesthetically lame and tacky. Either way im sure she'd get some flack, but if her style was dope at least there would be something worth defending. She has the right to be as tacky as she wants, but im not going to sit here and put her on a pedestal when im not digging her aesthetic. Sharon Stone is a better example of an older woman thats s-xy and risque, she doesn't get any flack why? Because she looks dope. Madonna just tries too hard to mold herself to a generation thats not asking her to.

It was a blatant expression of disrespect. I get irked when people defend Madonna by saying she was just "playing around" and simply ruffling feathers. What she did was knowingly throw Gaga under the bus and try to use that to her advantage and play her legend card to impressionable pop consumers who were already on the fence with Gaga. She knew people were looking to her as some sort of final say as to what to think of Gaga and she chose to make her look like a joke and perpetuate negative perceptions with both the reductive comment and the inclusion of BTW fused with EY and Shes Not Me on her world tour. She couldve just said nothing at all on the subject and put focus elsewhere. It was pathetically manipulative and something I didn't respect at all not just being a fan of Gaga but being a fan of Madonna as well. It was a cheap shot.

the double standards in this forum, youa re just saying what you do becauser you hate Madonna and Caitlyn is trangendered, none of them are s-xy to me but both of them have the right to express themselves, if Caytlin can do that, who is also "old" then Madonna can do the same

My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48

Diplo's comment is rude, but the Madonna hate in here is really uncalled for. She has a right to express herself as well.
