At this distinctive point? Try when she released We R Who We R

Lmao. That would be true if she didn't go on to release Die Young (a hit), Timber (a hit) and go on a world tour...

So I'm not taking sides, but I have a question about Kesha and Luke's contract.

How many albums in her contract have to be half filled with Dr. Luke produced tracks? That is, how many albums is contracted for with Dr. Luke?

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Born To Slay

Ah, a girl is date-raped while trying to make it in the business, when she was young, powerless and confused, and when she finally speaks up she's accused of being a money thirsty liar :nick: Glad to see rape culture isn't a thing anymore, after all! What a world we live in :nick:

Some people believe her, some people don't. Right now we don't know if she was actually raped and you can't just assume that. Dr. Luke is innocent until proven guilty.

This won't be like the Cosby situation, if there are other women involved. Most of the women in the Cosby group were much older when all of this came out and their livelihood wasn't going to be taken away forever. If there are other victims of Dr. Luke, it will be young girls who are currently working in the music industry. They aren't going to want to be blackballed by the male dominated label owners and producers, so they aren't going to come forward. If there are other victims, it will probably come out thirty years from now...which will be too late for Kesha and too late to matter to Dr. Luke's reputation as a producer.

Exactly.

Keshas lawyer recently came to talk to my friends class about his line of work but he touched heavily on the subject of their case and how history making it actually is. Its incredibly rare that anyone in her position would come forward and fight against someone that is as powerful in the music industry as Dr. Luke is. Shes jeopardizing her career completely and I think its quite foolish of people on here thinking shes doing that in vain. I'm sure details are embellished for court, but all in all to go through this agonizing legal process is not something you just do. There is substance to her case, I find it appalling that people are so ready and willing to call her a thirsty liar.

I can't agree more.

I've always loved Kesha, and I've always known that she's honest. One of the most honest artists in the music industry, and that takes some balls these days.

Timber was technically Pitbull's song which she was featured on and is a wonder to me why it was a hit beside her bit!

Die Young was no longer a single after those children got murdered remember?

"Dr. Luke is demanding Kesha produce medical records to prove he repeatedly s-xually and physically abused her ... but the pop star is begging the court to shut down his request.

According to the docs ... Kesha's ex-producer wants her to turn over all texts, emails, and any communications in which she may have accused him of abuse, d--gging or date raping her on a private jet.

Kesha says providing that info would be a waste of time ... since she's asked a judge to toss Luke's lawsuit against her. But until there's a ruling ... Dr. Luke's pressing forward.

He also wants any and all records from Kesha's 2014 rehab stint. Presumably, he thinks they'll help prove her allegations are all a fairy tale."

I really want to believe Kesha, but I don't want to let my Kesha stan habits in the way of my judgment.

I'm a little confused by all this. Why does Luke want evidence of previous accusations of him abusing her? However, Kesha's unwillingness to provide any records and saying it's a waste of time seems like a weak excuse for not coming up with evidence on her part. In my experiences, when I've asked people for proof that may shed light on the situation and solve it, those people often try to deflect the request for proof with a "it's a waste of time" or "That won't prove anything" as an attempt to diminish the possible significance of said evidence. Or what if she simply doesn't have the evidence anymore for some reason? Like, if it happened a long time ago, then there's a chance maybe she cleared out her texts or emails. Just throwing out ideas against the wall.

But at the same time, unfortunately I'm not surprised that a producer would take advantage of a young girl working toward a career in the music industry. Gaga herself has revealed to us that there are many people like that in the industry.

One thing that can't be ignored is the fact that Kesha went to rehab for an eating disorder with the cause attributed to Dr. Luke. Her bulimia had to come from somewhere, and if she says it was caused by Dr. Luke body shaming her and calling her a refrigerator and **** like that, then I don't think there's reason to not believe her.

But there is also a chance she might have exaggerated or fudged details. I recently read an article in Rolling Stone about how the reporting got all ****ed up and that allowed the victim to get away with details that ended up being super sketchy. So I suppose anything is possible.

This whole thing is such a mess, but Kesha's got serious balls for stepping forward and talking about things like this.

Is that typical?

I think not, I think contracts are usually for 4-5 albums.

Huh. I wonder why so many then.

Hasn't she made about four for him already?

She's made Animal, Cannibal and Warrior. I don't think I Am The Dance Commander & Deconstructed count as albums for her contract.

Also, Change My Mind was scrapped.

Okay. If she only had a few albums left I would think she would just stick it out long enough to rush a few albums out to get out of her contract, but with so many, that's such a bad situation. I don't know if the allegations are true or not, so I'm only speaking in terms of artistry, but with eight albums she's basically contracted for him control almost her entire career. That's crazy.
