I get what you are saying. And I know it brings a certain amount of negativity, but we discuss a lot of things on here, so why not this? I was pretty surprise actually, at the fact that they sound sooo similar. Esp after the whole "Roar" & "Brave" comparisons.

Plus its not Katy who is to be blamed, its the producers who choose to copy.

Alright. I'm not saying not to discuss it at all, but I hope we can all discuss it with some healthy skepticism and a degree of thoughtfulness that you just won't find in a YouTube video accusation of plagiarism.

They do sound quite similar, but I could swear I've heard another even older song that sounds the same as well. No idea what it is, though.

A Spanish singer? Why are these "copies" always from people who nobody has ever heard about? :smh:

Anyway, I'll have to say this again and again: Both melodies aren't very original. You'll find 1000 variations.

she is the princess of pop in Mexico sis... sit down

Similar melodies, but let's be real - there's no way that either is original.

No, it's not the same :smh: Even if it was exactly the same, that melody is so unoriginal, I'm sure "Belinda" copied it too :rip:

It's exactly the same though isn't it.........are you guys listening properly? Katy just sings it in English

Belina's song was written and composed by her father Nacho Peregrin and Belinda & produced by Jimmy Harry.

Thats what i found on a website.

Apparently she is a really famous mexican singer.

I'm not a fan of Katy Perry at all (actually I pretty much hate what she represents), but these comparisons are usually pretty shallow and not really well thought out. We probably both hate it when its between Gaga and Madonna, so why do it to other artists?

This

I dont even hear any similarities tbh

Although it's a reach that she copied, and a bit disrespectful, Belinda is huge. Just because you haven't heard of her, doesn't mean no one else has.

She`s not that successful in germany either:
PRISM debuted at #4 (behind Helene Fischher, James Blunt & Sunrise Avenue), but still higher than Teenage Dream (#5)

oh and by the way her last #1 hit here was "Hot N´Cold" :laughga:
