The whole "boyfriend thing" as you put it was a huge dent in her image online but most people offline, & parents still love her. She's still very "kid friendly" and appeals to teens and adults as well, and is loved by a lot of people. White is the epitome of American Sweethearts. When it comes to music, I agree that Katy is very likeable and is definitely the American Sweeheart. Few scandals or heated situations involve Katy. I like that. There isn't anything that really makes her a turn off to people (besides the music for some). But I prefer some crazy in my life so that's why I stan for Gaga. But they way I see it, Katy is more "liked" over all compared to Taylor Swift, though. Katy rarely gets intense hate online or offline. She's almost 30 years old... But age has nothing to do with it. Jennifer Aniston was considered America's Sweetheart for a long time, while she was well in her 30s. And so was Reese Witherspoon. So yeah age is a non-factor.
