XoXoJoanneGaga 629
this "original fan" superiority complex is getting a bit old.Nah there's no superiority complex, if you make illogical posts it's fair to be called out on it. The only place I've ever seen people trying to draw a line between "old" Gaga and "new" Gaga is on this site, and even then it's only a few members for the most part. Most Gaga fans are fans of all of her work and get that she's the same person she's always been, and that all of her music so far falls under the same umbrella. It's only on here that I've seen people overthink her career to the point where they start drawing imaginary lines and basically create stan wars between albums and eras lol, it's nuts, and people who do that don't really get Gaga or just need to chill and take a step back. And no offense, but the fact that you had no response to being proven wrong other than calling out an imagined "superiority complex" is a sign of low critical thinking skills and pseudo-intellectualism
djBuffoon 12,123
I highly doubt that. With all due respect, I am not here to prove anything to you.How was LoveGame and Poker Face radio-friendly? At least LoveGame wasn't.Disco inspired electro-pop. Might not have been on top 40 at that particular time, but it's been around for a while.
Alien Tulip 12,428
I feel lucky, or maybe it's because of my own effort, for loving every Gaga work that she put out. I used to dislike some songs but now I almost love them all. In fact I apply this to every artist I listen to not just Gaga and I find myself able to enjoy a lot of material. But The FameGa really impressed me.I like the fame to born this way. I really only like half of born this way because a lot of songs just seem too high schooly for me, not that thats a bad thing but just not my taste. ARTPOP was underwhleming for me but I do love Venus and think its an amazing song that should have been a single. I may not have liked ARTPOP but I did enjoy swine fest, vma applause (I attended the vmas that year and seeing that performance up close was super), and I had a good time at artrave even though for me its her least best tour and show I've attended. I have a good feeling for the next album though since shes in a much better and healthier place in her life which I'm happy for.

XoXoJoanneGaga 629
but majority of gaga fans (btw and ARTPOP era ones) tend to discredit her early work and call it "basic" and "mediocre".Not true though, the majority of her fans like most or all of her work. I mean it's pretty hard to love one or two of her albums and not like the other ones, they all sound pretty much the same lol. Most people I talk to about her outside this site (and most stans) consider The Fame Monster her best and the rest good as well. Born This Way is the one album I've seen some real hate for outside this forum but that's understandable for obvious reasons, although it still has some well-loved singles. When people spend too much time on a forum for an artist they can easily overthink their career and their work and start developing extreme opinions as a result of forum culture. It's not real though, it's like 0.01% of the overall fanbase

Every album is unique in its own way and the way we compare albums with albums is actually deepening Gaga's artistry by actually witnessing how her music evolves over time. They are all electronic and just plain pop music. I mean for heavens sake there's songs called s-x dreams and Jewels N' Drugs on her latest album lol. I agree with the fan forum description though because a lot of fans here take her career too seriously to the point where if someone has a different opinion than they do, then they retaliate into by calling your taste basic and what not. Forums are open and made for discussions but a lot of the times it just feels like "my taste is more better than yours because I listen to bjork and fka twigs" kind of crap when in reality no one cares outside the internet. It had a very special and meaningful place in my and probably Gaga's hearts, I think it's because of all the criticisms the album received and watching the music flourish at that tour was just pure happiness, I sort of connected with the tour emotionally. ARTPOP was simpler than Born This Way but it was still a very colorful and beautiful album to me. In fact it's my favorite album and I'm still jamming to it now which I didn't do the same for Born This Way after years it got released.

Every album is unique in its own way and the way we compare albums with albums is actually deepening Gaga's artistry by actually witnessing how her music evolves over time.Oh yea there's nothing wrong with comparing albums, it's the natural thing to do for any great artist. I'm just talking about some people on here that I've seen do it in an immature way, where they don't actually have anything insightful to say and will just bash or praise one album to make their favorite look better. I've never seen people behave that way outside this site or for other artists and again it makes especially little sense with Gaga since her 4 albums are so similar that anyone saying they love one or two and don't like another one or two would be flat out lying lmao. Alien Tulip 12,428
What's wrong with Sexxx Dreams and Jewels N' Drugs? Nothing I'm just explaining that its odd that people call the fame singles basic when s-x dreams is also an electronic song about s-x lol. I don't like Jewels N' Drugs though and its my least favorite lady gaga song.
somnambulist 1,526
The irony of this thread is pretty funny. You're claiming gaga's "i dont give a ****" attitude is gone, yet the pop star that sold tens of millions of records and made a name for herself with pop music released a JAZZ RECORD that ended up going platinum and winning a grammy. If that isn't "I don't give a ****" then I don't know what is.Her attitude never left, she loves being in control and yes the ARTPOP era was messy (she fired her manager just as it was starting for goodness sake, the organization was all over the place and it showed) but she knows what's up. She's using RedOne, Moroder, Diane Warren, Nile Rodgers... she's no dummy.
