Have Monsters become LAZY?

Just waiting for new music and a more structured era :lana:

This is the kind of attitude I'm talking about. Monsters always want things their way and if Gaga does it any differently, they criticize her or make up excuses not to support her. It's so rude. And lazy. "Oh Gaga isn't doing what I want, she isn't making the kind of music I want so I'm going to support someone else."

I applaud people at GagaDaily, the administrators and those running the site, actually taking initiative and keeping this place active for the fans to show their support for Gaga. They find the time to run this site, I'm sure they have busy lives. :applause::pawsup::monsterpaw:

As customers, ultimately, we are not obligated to do anything.

A committed fan base is really a collection of returning customers liking what we saw and looking for more.

Though we appreciate her art and like her as a person and performer, does not rob us of freedom of choice or purchasing power. Money was earned by us or our benefactors, so choosing to spend our reward or allowance makes us far from lazy, it makes us generous as those who toss a few bucks in the guitar case of the street corner performer. And to withhold funds is our right until we find a reason to drop a single dollar or a moment of our time.

Do your own research.

How is this is any way what that person has said? Waiting is the exact opposite of walking away from her and stanning for someone else..btw: no one is obliged to dislike everyone else but Gaga especially if she isn't doing much at the moment..people can support other artists

Then what purpose do we serve Lady Gaga, who constantly makes music for us? As a fanbase, what is our purpose then? If Gaga is so devoted to us, should we not reciprocate that devotion?

"Would you love me no matter what"? - Lady Gaga. I'd love and support gaga no matter what, that included buying her music, even if its not necessarily my cup of tea. As before, my point in this article is: If you're going to sit around complaining about Gaga not being on top and being all over media with number one songs, then do something about it, buying her music will get her to the top, supporting her no matter what. Don't be lazy and just complain about Gaga. She does so much for us, we should reciprocate that.

Shut up. For goodness sake. We can only do so much as a fanbase. At the beginning EVERYONE was crazy for her. Thats why she would smash effortlessly. Some of us are still here. We are not lazy cause we dont spam buy her tracks. Or spam view her videos. We are here. We buy her record ONCE like a normal person. We view her videos as much as we like. We buy her concert tickets. BTW what are you basing all this on cause she hasnt had a damn single since G.U.Y and even then we tried super hard to make it happen. ARTPOP is close to 3x platinum Worldwide. You know who did that? The lazy fanbase that stuck around after a messy era. We stayed here while gaga was having trouble with her management. And after her "people" left her, you know who was still here? Her fans. So please just stop.

but we are devoted .... the other day we made #ExcitedForGagasNewAlbum trend WW

it;s just Gaga's commercial downfall can't be blamed on us :smh:

no fan base in the world is strong enough to make a song a multi-platinum hit, we can only help the single get exposure but after that comes a thing called marketing and promotion which makes or breaks a certain single and Gaga has been lacking in this department since 2011 :neyde:

Let's stop it all right here.

An artist isn't supposed to make music for the fans, an artist is supposed to release material that (s)he is proud of, that is a piece of art and her expression. If Gaga stopped listening that much to the fans and trying to please us, ARTPOP wouldn't have been as messy as it's been.

A fanbase is here to support the artist, that's the one and only purpose of a fanbase. And that's certainly why the fanbase is smaller right now, because it's been kinda difficult to support some of the stuff the last eras brought to us. Even Gaga herself didn't support the ARTPOP era after the release of the album. :neyde:

There's many reasons why we seem to be "lazy" as you put it. But it's actually not the case...

You have to remember that the GP are the people who make hits, not the fans. 95% of sales come from the GP, not fans. This is a music industry fact but you'd swear every fanbase thought it was the opposite. So, if an artist loses GP support, they only have the 5% fanbase to keep them afloat and even some of them might have let their support wane.

Also, fanbases go through phases of showing mad support in terms of getting topics trending and online voting. Gaga fans have gone through that phase for three consecutive albums, so they've inevitably burned out after all that. Gaga fans are also one of the more older pop fanbases. The ones with lots of young fans always get heavy supprt and win lots of fan voted awards because the young have more free time and less responsibilities than adult fans.

When your only responsibility is school 5 days a week (and get lots of weeks of holidays in the year), you have lots of time to show crazy support and it's a big part of your life as not much else matters. But when you're an adult who has a 9-5 job (or maybe a night shift), a ton of chores to do and maybe even children to look after, you have no time to be retweeting twitter trends or downloading remixes or replaying Vevo videos or voting at the People's Choice awards over and over.

When you're an adult, you realise there's more important things in life than stanning for a popstar. This is why older fanbases from the likes of Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna and Mariah rarely win fan voted awards but younger fanbases from the likes of Taylor, Katy, Justin Beiber and 1D are winning left and right. But in the real world, adults don't care about these young fanbases and know that fan voted awards are ultimately meaningless.

Trust me, Gaga will continue to get album and touring sales as she gets older but the same cannot be said of the artists who have always aimed themselves at the young. Aiming at the youth market is no longer reliable when those same youths grow up and the next generation of youths think you're too old and uncool. That older fan loyalty will win in the end.
