going back to listen to the album in full and i am blown away again. i heard sounds that i never heard before and the production sounds so futuristic

Yeah, people used to call it "over-produced", and while it may feel over-whelming at first listen, it definitely makes it much more interesting. Specially over time.

It's been 4 years and I still feel the album evolving, either because of those production quirks, or due to the themes being prevalent today.

Considering how the album manages to challenge religious perceptions, critique governmental systems (such as don't ask, don't tell and even racism), as well as the whole identity and self-empowerment. It truly is the album of the decade.

I'm sure no album will be more representative of this generation and it's problems, specially which such aggressiveness as Born This Way did in 2011.

Black Jesus is one of those songs that is just there on the album but the instrumentals are the ****. Makes you feel gay and walk the runway. :gaycat:

Poor bonus tracks, we all know gaga is no katy or taylor that has some of their greatest songs (Prism and 1989 respectively) used as bonus tracks tacked at the end.

Poor BJ instrumental, used on some autobiographical bonus track.

Poor Earthquake, relegated into Fashion of my bonus track.

Poor The Queen's bridge, it has to suffer to be in one of monsters' most bashed songs.

OMG now that you pointed it out, you're so right. Choose your battles from PRISM :legend:

And everybody wants New Romantics as a single from 1989

Gaga has to step it up with the bonus tracks next time, ARTPOP didn't even have any

But i loved what she did in BTW.

I liked how the bonus tracks flow well in the deluxe version especially Bad Kids and Fashion of His Love.

Every time Bad Kids ends, I always mistaken the start of FOHL as a bridge of BK with a chord change like the bridge in The Queen. but maybe that's just me lol. :sis:

You know i've never liked Black Jesus Amen Fashion. But now that years have passed ill admit the songs grown on me some, or ive brainwashed myself into accepting it either way, but her vocals for me arent the issue. I think her vocals are good. I just don't really care for the black jesus concept of the song. Its just like why? What purpose does this serve the autobiographical nature of the track? I just dont feel like it really meant enough for it to be validated. But its not that big of a deal. The instrumental is pretty good though.

The Queen is just awful but that outro is fantastic. I actually edited it on my itunes so that its just that outro. It becomes a completely different track and I kind of wish the whole song was more in the vain of its outro.

I will never understand why Black Jesus † Amen Fashionsus was not on the standard album when it suits the theme perfectly and is godly

I also will never understand why Scheiße didn't become an official single during the FAME campaign :neyde:

& RIP to the fact that Heavy Metal Lover was suppose to be a single if MTN did well

Judas Oyster

bloody mary is her best song

Why is it so little talked about? It was the song I listened to the most from BTW. Even years after, it was the only one I listened to :P Now it's been a while since last time I played it, but it's a perfect song.

I think that the Edge of Glory is one of the most perfect pop songs ever. It is so anthemic and soaring and powerful, it's absolutely magnificent (I even love the video) a really fantastic song. I think the album as a whole is just brilliant, it really is one of my favourite ever albums; it's so versatile and dynamic and yet very consistent despite it's varied sounds and themes..if that makes any sense.
