Just a few days ago it was reported that Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James were all being considered for the highly coveted role of Spider-Man.

We all know that the role needs to be cast soon since it has been confirmed that we will see Peter Parker in “Captain America: Civil War” in May 6, 2016 before he stars in the “Spider-Man" solo film slated forJuly 28, 2017.

So who is the front-runner? Asa Butterfield Leads the Bunch. We have reached out to Asa’s reps who have given us a “no comment.”  We have also reached out other industry sources who have confirmed that he is indeed the front runner including one who believed that he already had bagged the role, by stating:

"Marvel had liked him since day one."

The guy who reported this has been reliable in the past.
Thank GOD it's not that floppy actor from The Fault In Our Stars  but not really that here for him either. We'll see I guess

Kevin Feige said they wanted a young, twinky looking Spider Man to put him in high school and to contrast with the other, older Avengers so I guess he fits right in

He's very talented but if he's actually picked I hope he can deliver the humour parts convincingly. Anyway, I doubt Marvel would dare to miscast their most famous super-hero so I'm not worried tbh.

Fun Fact: The K in KPop stands for "Kate Bush"

Everytime I hear/read something about  Spider-Man films I immediately think of Tobey Maguire. He was the first Spider-Man of the century and even if younger ones don't remember him, a more adult generation that grew watching superheroes in tv and movies does. Not even Andrew Garfield could take that away. I know they won't re-cast Tobey as Spidey again because he's almost 40 and they want a teenager, but he left an impact and it will be very hard for future Spidey actors to claim that spot. It would be like redo de Iron Man movies with someone else that is not Robert Downey Jr. in the main role after the amazing job he did.

I might not feel this guy as the new Spider-Man but I will give it a try. I know Marvel won't choose a mediocre actor either. It hasn't been confirmed that he's the actor yet but we'll see how they manage to find a good one.

Well, I respectfully disagree. Spider Man done right after the third Sam Raimi movie and implemented in the MCU after The Avengers is everything the fanboys wanted. They are totally behind this reboot and Marvel will not mess it up. The Amazing Spider Man reboot, Green Lantern, Man of Steel to some extent and the negative hype Fantastic Four is getting (although less now) shows what happens when your core fan base doesn't support you, but that doesn't seem to be the case here!
