Gaga always delivers with proper quality music, I don't why commercial performance matters.

people who are scared need to let that go. theres nothing to be scared of. she isnt going to put out a bad album and suddenly cease doing music for the rest of her life. great artists aren't recognized by the mainstream all the time. she had her it girl moment, perhaps she'll have more big moments, but she is safe honey dont worry.

I wouldn't say this yet. She has a while to go before she stamps down her legacy in the storied pop culture book. So far the main thing she will be remembered for is that Sound of Music cover; and that's a cover.

This next album needs to be good.

Please tell me you're trolling

Does it matter if she'll be popular or not as long as you enjoy the music she'll release?

Yeah, this. I literally couldn't care less about the GP. If I personally love what she's doing, that's all what matters.

She's already cemented her legacy as a pop culture icon, so what does it matter?

She could go Kardasian(without the s-x tape) now and not really do shvt for a long time and still be in the news.

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true

You wouldn't honestly prefer her to make good music though? You might not want 'music not the bling' thrown at you but the idea that you would accept subpar music solely for chart success doesn't make much sense

But during her first two eras she had BOTH. And that's what scares me, that she will have to choose between commercial success (record label pressure) or good music.

Is it really that important? She made so much money, has fans for life, will still be able to make music as long she wants, because she will always have an audience. She is happy that way, so should you. Find something more important to fight for then charts :kissga:

ARTPOP didn't fail because of the music though, ARTPOP was always doomed

C2C was HUGE for a jazz album and that happened after ARTPOP. She is on the right track

The "serious" tag isn't available for Gaga Thoughts I believe, only for Conversation Area :laughga:

On-topic: I'm not scared or worried for her at all  Even if she isn't super successful and dominating the charts and so on, she'll have enough success to continue making music  There are loads of artists out there who don't even have a few million followers or views that are still releasing music and performing and their fans are totally fine with it - I'm sure if she ends up losing a lot of her funding and so on then she'll still have enough to create her vision within the financial boundaries that are set

But haven't you answered your own question as to which you'd genuinely want? By suggesting that commercial success isn't "good music" (I agree that you can have both and the TF/TFM is a definite example of that) you're admitting that you would rather the good music than the chart 'reciepts' which only really have importance on silly 'stan' forums.

She's still a commercial artist, so her commercial success will always be important for her label.

Even though she was completely opposed to this idea back in 2013, i can see her reinventing her image & sound (not sure about that one but very likely) to benefit from it commercially.

I guess its all up to how well she does that eventually.
