How anyone can genuinely believe that any of these albums did worse than Lotus is beyond me.

Britney Jean and Rebel Heart both opened with more than it and at least went top five. Not to mention Madonna is nearly 60, and not even close to her commercial prime.

4 is seen as a flop because it didn't have any big hits, but it still debuted at #1 with 310k and has sold well over a million in the US, 3m WW. If that's a 'flop', then...... Underperformance, yeah, but flop.. no. AP, same thing. Not a flop, but definitely an underperformance.

R8 doesn't even have a release date so it's kind of impossible to call that a flop already.

I don't know an awful lot about Glitter and I wasn't exactly aware at the time to experience the release so I can't comment but I know it did horribly, even though it was released on 9/11 which probably didn't help.
