Why are Monsters only open to the idea of Pop?

​DWUW isn't a pop song with R&B elements. It's more so the other way around. If Mariah or Beyonce had sung the song, most people wouldn't say it's pop. Just because any song by Mariah is associated with R&B. Just like how any song by Gaga is associated with pop even if it's not. 

What exactly is a "real change" anyway? 

​Not many will justify DWUW as a proper R&B song, it is part of a group of pop songs in a pop album called ARTPOP by the famous Pop artist Lady Gaga, one can't help but count it as a Pop song with R&B elements. See how Pop is overshadowing here. This is what comes to most minds.

But she's not. She's an artist. 

And does everyone choose to forget that she started out covering led Zeppelin songs wrote songs that weren't edm pop songs? She didn't start out singing songs like just dance. She started out with songs like "No floods"

Probably because they see pop as the most fun and attention getting genre and the attention can last throughout decades and is a forever radio format favorite.

And Lady Gaga was a perfect pop star at the starting gate, a dream come true.
