Serendipity 7,821
Some dog breeds are snapped right up almost as soon as they arrive at Battersea dogs home, others wait up to three times as long These are the dogs most in need of a loving owners to take them on. Whether it's because they're big or unusual, these breeds are likely to spend moretime in Battersea Dogs Home. This is the largest animal asylum in London and this graph shows how dogs of each breed stay in the home before they’re adopted. It's no surprise adorable, playful Labs are swept up quickly, but Bichon Frises are actually the breed most likely to be picked up by people looking for a new companion. A little Bichon Frise is only 3-5kg on average as an adult and between 23-30cm tall. Akitas, the large dogs favoured by the Japanese royal family, take the longest to be adopted. These big, intelligent dogs take some dedication and training. Equally, taking on a Dogue de Bordeaux is certainly a big commitment – adults weigh an average of 55-65kg and they stand up to 70cm tall. It’s good to see that Staffies, the little terriers with a big reputation, are reasonably likely to get adopted. But the average Staffie still waits for just over one month to find a new home. Haroon 49,685
I wouldn't adopt a dog I guess I have a fear of dogs, it's not bad to the point where I run around or shout or anything, but I just get a bit uncomfortable when dogs are near me So if I did get a dog then it'd need to be a breed that fits my lifestyle, and it'd have to be from when it's a puppy so then as it grows I can get over whatever weird reservations I have about them
Goosey 3,017
I don't like Labs. I would pick the Rottie or the mutt. Maybe Bordeaux if they don't have some weird condition. Goosey 3,017
WaiT. Why are people snapping up those Bichon Frises? Those things look ridiculous. RAMROD 117,027
I wouldn't adopt any pet anymore now.My lifestyle don't allow me to.Me and BF both enjoy traveling places. And there are times where countries or venues that do not allow pets to come with us.So we wouldn't let that hold us from going elsewhere.Besides it needed lots of commitment to have a pet.Not just for its foods, but also its health and its happiness. It is almost like raising a child except we don't have to foot their tuition for 12-16 years. If I ever bother to pay for all that these days, I'd adopt a child as well, but nope. One pug in my lifetime is enough for me.
