Marriage also brings many other benefits than just saying 'yay we're married'. Gay people aren't allowed to see they're dying partner at the hospital because they can't get married

What I can't handle is the fact that even though I haven't come out, people have assumed and bullied the **** out of me. I've been threatened before. Of course. But there are some things I feel you should know. Sorry I'm late but hey I'm here now. 

1) nobody here is attacking you because you're straight. You've said several times everybody is attacking you because you're a straight person on a forum with lots of gay people. That is simply not true. I am straight. I have made friends here that I hope to remain friends with for life. 

2) 'straightophobic' is not a thing. And if it was it would be called 'heterophobic'. Again, nobody here is attacking you because you're not gay. I find it offensive that you feel like you need to create a term for yourself that paints you as a victim of society when you are clearly not. Stop trying to make yourself look special. Sexism, racism and homophobia are all words because they are very real things that happen every day from a casual to severe spectrum. But bringing up racism and s-xism completely derails what the point is. 

3) you have your beliefs because your religion says you should. Fair enough. But do you follow every rule of your religion? Every single one? I think you should invest your time improving yourself so that you follow the rules of your own religion as precisely as possible instead of making a half attempt to preach here that you're a good guy but you just don't believe in marriage equality. 

4) if I could have a small sum of money for Everytime somebody says 'I'm not RACIST/HOMOPHOBIC/SEXIST, I have BLACK/GAY/FEMALE friends or family' I would be so so so rich. Guess what? Having friends who are in a certain minority group doesn't excuse you from sh*t. I don't get to use the n word because my cousin is black. I'm a white female who has not experienced anything like the racism black people face, just how you have not experienced homophobia. 

5) As a few have said already, the majority of the people against you are 'attacking' you because you did not give a reason. This is how a forum works: you discuss. That's all.

​There are laws in the US right now that allow people to be homophobic. Some states have passed a law that allows business owners to refuse service to gays, and in more than half of the states in the US, it is legal for an employer to fire you based on s-xual orientation.

I am not gay, but I still think that they should be married. Some of you guys are acting like if he is killing gay people, he is just saying his belief which is neither right nor wrong. You guys who are saying “HOMOPHOBE" to him are as wrong as what he said. But gay people SHOULD be able to be married because of the following reasons:

1. Being Gay is natural. So, why should you neglect the idea of a s-xuality that came naturally? Obviously you didn't realize it at first because you don't come out of  your mothers womb and come out as gay but you eventually realize it therefore the term “coming out of the closet" is correct because you come out in your own fashion and come out as gay. 

2. Not allowing gay people to be married is in a way telling them that they are less capable of commitment or love than people who are straight which we all know is not true.

3. How would you feel if you liking the opposite gender is considered to be illegal, how would you feel? Most people who are against gay marriage are religious and use the bible that being gay is a sin, which does not make any sense because you are up using a book for peace for pure hatred, the opposite of peace. You don't understand how they feel because you aren't homos-xual so why take ones rights because they are different?

4. Some people may argue that it violates the natural law, but there is not even a law in the first place! 

5. People say that it either denies either a father or a mother, but it is way better to have 2 mothers or 2 fathers than people who have just one. Some couples have a role also. One having a more dominant personality and another with a more submissive personality.

Just because another problem is happening, does not mean you should discriminate another big problem because another is happening more recently. I understand freedom of speech, but sometimes you don't have to be a certain way to understand a certain concept that many people are.
