she only has 3 #1 :excuseme:

Since when does a song have to hit number one to be a hit? :awkney:

It'd be cool if she recorded acoustic versions of all her singles. I'd definitely buy that.

It's too early for me. I usually prefer a greatest hits compilation album release when artists have reached more than 10 years since their first breakout hit. The more albums released prior to a compilation set, the more diverse, more memorable, and the better overall a compilation album becomes for the collectors.

On Billboard's Hot 100 chart, yes. But if we consider all the #1 hits she scored in at least one of the top 10 major music markets in the world, she scored three more with Paparazzi, Bad Romance, and Telephone.

Also, a greatest hits (GH) compilation album isn't only exclusive to Hot 100 #1 singles. One of the best-selling GH compilation albums in Nielsen Music history (1991-present), Bob Marley's Legend (1984) sold over 11.66 million without a single #1 hit on the Hot 100, which means a 'great' GH album in the form of commercial success doesn't necessarily mean they've to be filled with chart-topping singles on a Billboard chart. After all, chart peaks do not always reflect actual sales for them to be considered a 'great' or 'best-selling' hit. For example, 2 of the 11 digital songs which sold more than 7 million in SoundScan history didn't even top the Hot 100 chart or even reached its top 2.

Greatest hits are pointless in the digital age. People can buy the favorite songs one by one. The reason they were so popular in the 80's and 90's is because singles were not so easily accessible. If you wanted to purchase your favorite songs without listening to an entire album you had to buy the single when it was released physically or wait for a greatest hits album. If she wants to release a greatest hits, she could, but it's to early in her career to do it. Most people wait until after their fifth album to do something like that.

Now sis, you can't have a greatest hits with only two albums worth of hit singles :hunty:

I asked the same question as you a while back and got the same responses :toofunny:

I think it's a good idea, even more so if she were to do it before LG5. What with her comeback in the public's good graces and all, I think it would be a good reminder of her slayage before dropping a new album.

The Immaculate Collection, Mariah's #1s, My Prerogative and Ultimate Kylie are iconic, so there's good predecedent.

Also, those saying no because we're in the digital age and that it's useless, Pink's Greatest Hits So Far did really good and had hit singles so

Exactly. I don't know why would some, not just here but elsewhere, ignore the fact that Bad Romance, which peaked at #2 on the Hot 100, has topped 5 other major markets and over 10 other countries elsewhere and is still one of the world's best-selling reported digital singles of all time. If BR isn't one of Gaga's greatest hits, then Michael Jackson's Thriller (peaked at #4 on the Hot 100) shouldn't be considered among MJ's greatest hits then, despite it being his most consistent seller (and arguably most recognized) even to this day and age.

Fame Romance

Or a biggest flops album, titled F.L.O.P., starring her iconic flops G.U.Y., Marry The Night and Beautiful, Dirty, Rich :legend:

So "Lady Gaga - The Singles Collection"?

You're missing one. :guy:

:derpga:

I don't think she should do a greatest hits album yet. If she does I hope it contains extra new content like demos, unreleased songs, or maybe if we're lucky the DWUW + Venus video.  :emma:

Whispering

She could, as she has enough recognizable hits to do so, but I think it would be best to wait until a couple of albums from now.
