HausOfHarlow 379
Haha I was jk. On another note, can anybody give me their meaning of Gods And Monsters? Because I feel like its kinda awful but maybe I'm misinterpreting it... I interpret the whol song by this one line: "In the land of Gods & Monsters, I was an angel, looking to get f*cked hard.." She had a rough past. We honestly don't know the specifics of her past. This Is What Makes Us Girls, Cola, and Gods & Monsters gives us hints though.. I think she used to possibly be prostitute. I know this is WAY out there, but in Cola, she sings "I wear my diamonds on Skid Row.." I think this talks about looking pretty in a not-so-pretty part of town. And that one line in G&M, she is an angel (pure, innocent, pretty) in the lands of Gods (wealthy older men) & Monsters (wealthy older men who look for s-x).... looking to get ______ hard (obviously looking for s-x) --> And if you look in the lyric book, "Angel" has a capitalized A, possibly referencing her street name in her past? Gods & Monsters :legend:

Gods & Monsters Oh okay! Well obviously the song is really great, and has multiple interpretations and a deeper meaning, but lines like, "God's dead, I said baby that's alright with me" are sometimes a little uncomfortable for me to listen to as a Christian, ngl. I just hope she's not being totally literal there you know.

Lana has a free spirit and a free will, and can write/sing a song with whatever lyrics she wants to. It's only up to you yourself if those lyrics will inspire you. See where I'm getting at? My parents constantly criticize the Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna, etc music I "feed my mind" but in reality I don't let it change me as the person I am, unless I want it to. Personally I don't think (for example) "Man Down" is going to inspire me to kill someone or an ex-lover, unless I WANT IT TO. So try not to let religion or "moral responsibilities" hold you back from listening to music you truly enjoy. *looks at Ride video* Not really TRUTH. Paper Planes 340
I sometimes wonder if Lana just said all that stuff about quitting music for shock value and to make her fans realise how much they need her. Just two months after the interview (oddly enough, just as BTD had been re-released), she said on the radio that she was working on her next album and we're officially getting news about it five months after she said she was thinking about quitting. If she wanted to scare us, it sure worked. I just hope she doesn't say anything she doesn't really mean in the future. Maybe she was just having a bad day and suffering from writer's block when she did that interview and just said something dramatic without really thinking. This is actually a really good way of looking at that. I always wondered why she said she that... We all know that she has more to say and is good at what she does. Why would she want to give all of that up? Plus, I'm sure she's still under contract with Interscope, anyway. delete it fat

I totally agree and I definitely don't let that kinda thing stop me from listening to my favorite artists. I was just a little taken back by that one line, but i'm sure Lana has her reasons and isnt literally saying, "F you God". And also, Man Down is in fact one of if not my favorite Rihanna song ever haha. And my mom's the same way, so I can relate there too ;) Lana4Eva tbh I'm pretty sure if God died, Lana wouldn't be the messenger. :P Correct haha. And also God will never die anyway so.. :laughga:
