ULTRARTPOP 0
Ever since that player in the NFL came out of the closet, the NFL has been exposed for being quite homophobic. They fired the gay player, who was very valuable to the team. The NFL clearly has a lot of straight fans who wouldn't like the gay community being "shoved down their throats." If gaga was to perform, obviously Born This Way is one of her biggest hits. Do you think that's why she hasn't been asked? The NFL is afraid of her singing a gay anthem in the middle of a football game, the straightest thing in the world? Or am I reaching?

hmm 979
Reaching completely; Madonna is a far larger gay icon and performed; plus I'm sure it wasn't the NFL as a singular entity that fired that gay player?
Glory 2,247
They're too afraid she would do something provocative. Imagine the meat dress on Superbowl

Der Meister 3,000
YES. Reasons: 1. Too Gay and she doesn't have that many hit singles (since 2011). 2. Judas single release. 3. Bad Single choices. 4. Messy era overall. 5. Too long for the BTWBall hit the US. 6. Poor ticket sales a.k.a broken hip. 7. ARTPOP With the BTW era she pissed a lot of people off, she lost a huge part of her fan base and it definitely hurt her even more when she released ARTPOP, people could relate to her music, and she was talking about art or how ARTPOP could mean anything (nonsense for the GP). KingOfSpain 10,010
Hardly (on both religion and gay rights) since Madonna has performed there. But she did that in the 80's... Gaga's controversy is so recent. http://gagadaily.com/forums/topic/227246-ceremony-gagas-videography-megarate/
Son of Venus 473
I think so.I always thought they let Madonna perform due to her legendary status even though she's a gay icon and provocative as well.

hmm 979
But she did that in the 80's... Gaga's controversy is so recent. Her "Live to tell" controversy was in 2006 and "American Life" was in 2003
KingOfSpain 10,010
Her "Live to tell" controversy was in 2006 and "American Life" was in 2003 That 2006 controversy wasn't really a controversy... Anyway Madonna has a long career and people see her as a 'legend' even if they like her or not The GP don't see Gaga as the same level as Madonna http://gagadaily.com/forums/topic/227246-ceremony-gagas-videography-megarate/
