ARTPOP attempts to recreate that magic and only comes close on a couple of tracks, out of 15. Nothing on that album is touching the genius or emotion of Bad Romance, Dance in the Dark, SHICD, Speechless, Alejandro... And if you're going to say ARTPOP is more personal you should explain how (although I can see how this could prove difficult). Speechless18 2 Posted January 11, 2015 Share Posted January 11, 2015 I think the fame monster songs are great, but they do sound smaller than the ARTPOP songs, bad romance sounds huge but everything besides bad romance sounds kind of small. the fame monster sounds small, rough, dark and kind of old compared too the production and sound quality of ARTPOP. This is a great way of saying it! I totally agree. TFM was amazing because it came after TF. I've said it before somewhere, but I do think TFM was so successful because it came immediately following TF. It was light years better by comparison, not necessarily a masterpiece of an album as it stands alone. It becomes a masterpiece when you consider TF is all we had to go off of in terms of Gaga's work at that point. ARTPOP, to me, is a masterpiece that stands alone. Although I appreciate the cohesive-ness of TFM (with each song representing a fear), sometimes I think keeping with a theme can be restricting. In ARTPOP, I feel like she was freer (and happier!) and those things came out in the music. Hello to all who ranked albums in reverse of their release, I feel like we may be a small bunch...? So far it has been the WEAKEST lead single Gaga had, the production sounds lumpy and I wish she would have handled it herself more instead of letting RedOne poop all over the place.
