Batwings 12,957 Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 On his "Focal Point" radio show, the American Family Association's Bryan Fischer recently claimed that the "active, aggressive homos-xual lobby" represented a threat to U.S. democracy. As Right Wing Watch first reported, Fischer, who is no stranger to anti-gay declarations, told listeners, "I firmly believe the homos-xual agenda represents the greatest single threat to religious liberty we have ever seen in the history of our existence as a nation." He went on to note, "It's the greatest threat to liberty of all kinds, whether it's freedom of religion, whether it is freedom of speech, whether it is freedom of the press, whether it is freedom of association." Fischer's comments came during an interview with Caiden Cowger, a conservative teen radio host who made headlines in 2012 after arguing that President Barack Obama was "making kids gay." Earlier this year, Fischer argued that the U.S. Supreme Court's Oct. 6 decision to turn away same-s-x marriage appeals from Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin was "unconstitutional," Right Wing Watch first reported. He also defended opposition to lesbian, gay, bis-xual and transgender (LGBT) rights, arguing that anti-LGBT sentiment was a "natural revulsion." Gay people have literally no connection to "religious liberty," that is REAL religiois liberty, not the DISCRIMINATION they want to call religious liberty. It shouldn't have any bearing on politics, we want a democracy not a theocracy. You shouldn't be able to declare gay marriage or sodomy or homos-xuality itself illegal based on your religious beliefs. These are examples of when religion tramples on people's liberties. You may practice your religion free from persecution. That is fair and shouldn't be tampered with. I don't see why they should be complaining, at this point you are even allowed benefits such as not having to pay taxes which is ludicrous and not a right.
