I know that not every family is like this, but this is pretty scary to me, how easy it is to get a gun, even for kids! I mean what are these parents thinking? It's not the guns, it's the person behind it. But R.I.P. to the people. It's a societal issue. Yes, guns being legal is a problem more so than it seems on the surface. I don't know anyone who owns one either (and I live in the US) but that doesn't meant people don't own guns. I was reading some article the other day and there's 7,000,000 guns in Germany alone. craig 680 Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 I'm Canadian, don't know anyone with a gun, and feel safer without one. The solution for the US isn't simple, because it will require a wide consensus to ban guns, and as long as violent crime is common and gun ownership is common lots of people want one. A single city or state enacting tougher controls won't change much, it has to be the whole country. But support for gun rights went up after Ferguson.
