And ? We don't care.. I mean she's a controversial singer, she'll get bad criticisms every era for sure ( The Fame : She's a man ; TFM : She's an illuminati ; BTW : She's Madonna copicat and ARTPOP : She's over !)

Even with the perfect song and the hugest hit ever she'll be shaded and slammed by haters... Haters gonna hate...

Exactly, that's what I meant. She's constantly getting dragged for everything. I don't care if she's popular or commercially successful. She's still an amazing artist and incredible person.

Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.

Who do you think produced 6 out of 13 of her hits? :giggle:

Tally:

RedOne - 6

DJWS - 3

Garibay -2

Mutt - 1

Fusari - 1

Jerkins - 1

Note: I gave BTW (song) to DJWS and Garibay.

I understand that but the point I'm making is that she doesn't need to simplify herself to one artist when there are many other great producers to work with!

yeah but without that widespread exposure would she have been able to put great messages like Born This Way in the mainstream. We want her to have hits so she can continue to expose a new message to the mainstream.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned both the charts but I also mentioned the critique, too. So obviously I am not the one the listening issue.

And in that critique what do we find: a lot of people didn't think much of ARTPOP. And it's partially due to messy production that was outdated by the time the album came out.

The fact is, DJWS has never given Gaga a #1 hit...and despite the charts....its awfully interesting that everyone says DJWS is some great producer that can make great pop music bla bla bla....but RedOne has delivered....with 5 Top 5 hits and 3 #1s.

Sounds like the public isn't interested in DJWS' "great" production skills.

He can go back to Ohio and play trap.

Who cares about Top 5 hits and all that other mess that's only about triviality and sales.

Most of us aren't here for that and agree that ARTPOP was great and quality music. You obviously can't look past charts and sales, so go ahead and wish for the bling.

If that's what you want then go stan for Katy or something. We want Gaga to continue to evolve, explore new sounds, and keep her integrity though instead of selling out and making music for the charts.

Music not the bling

One of the comments to the article:

"It's so weird how dated she seems. It wasn't that long ago, yet her "game" feels really out of touch with the times for some reason. Possibly because she was everywhere a few years ago? I guess her music never evolved, essentially, and her "kooky costume" act is stale now."

Yes, she definitely needs RedOne back. I won't discourage her from experimenting new producers, I loved ARTPOP, in which she worked with new producers like Zedd and Madeon, but I think with her sixth album, she needs to please her fans (who adore RedOne's work to death) and also the critics and some party who expect more experimental and new sound. So to please both parties, 40% of her work should involve RedOne, and the other 60% is best to involve old producers like Fernando Garibay, Zedd and herself and of course new ones if she's confident in them.

I would welcome RedOne back because I love his work with Gaga, but I won't be crying if he isn't. Gaga can make amazing music without him, she has done it repeatedly and I don't believe that her music has dipped in quality without him.

That arguement is kind of fallacious.  The fact that Gaga and DJWS never made a #1 has little bearing on how high quality their work was.  Applause could have easily gone #1 if the timing was better.  DWUW, Sexxx Dreams, and MANiCURE were also potentially huge hits that were destroyed by all the behind-the-scenes bullsh*t that went down with ARTPOP.

It's really hard to separate all the drama, criticism, and sales stuff from the music (like, really really hard--your brain makes all these subconscious connections without you even realizing it), but I once I did I found Gaga's work on ARTPOP to be some of her best, DJWS's stuff especially.

She needs him back perhaps if we're talking commercially about slaying the charts. Otherwise, musically she's doing mighty fine without him.

RedOne is her most overrated producer. Everyone who thinks he's a hit maker, this writer from The Guardian included, should all go have a listen to his current roster of artists he's been producing for. He's not awful, but a hit maker he is not.

That said, maybe there is some magic there between them, but there is always the possibility that his sound at the time matched her vision at the time, and that it was a lighting in a bottle situation. Times are different now. Music is different now, and more importantly she is different now. For all we know there's another producer out there with the perfect new sound for her.
