Who are your musical influences?

David Bowie, Queen, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson. I would like to say Madonna, but let me tell you something. If I was an established artist, I would love to help younger artists.

So, are you implying that Madonna has no soul?

You said it, not me!

What did you think of Greece? This was the first time you had a show in our country.

Greece is one of the most important countries in the world. My stay and my show in Athens are something I will always remember. I personally felt an amazing connection with the culture of Greece. All three days I stayed there I was shocked with the amount of people that were waiting outside the hotel. I loved Athens and I had a lot of walks in the historic city center. It was my first show in Greece and of course I’m coming back whenever you call me.

Your new album is called Cheek to Cheek and you collaborating with singer and jazz legend Tony Bennett. The album got released 20 days ago. It’s something completely different than what we’ve used to have you doing all these years.

I was always an erratic character. I’ve been admiring jazz since I was 13 and I really wanted to try it. Frank Sinatra once said that Tony Bennett is his favorite artist, something I realized too when I met him. He’s very generous and it’s a big honor working with him. I’m proud of all my previous songs and I’m not regretting anything from my past. Cheek To Cheek is an album I really wanted to make. I think I’m at my best at the moment, both vocally and professionally. I would also like to note that Tony was with me in Athens those 3 days. Of course nobody noticed because we didn’t made an appearance together.

You recently had a new trumpet tattoo on your arm. Reports say that your father was furious about it. Is it true?

The truth is my father isn’t happy every time I get a tattoo, but I got it in a place where I could be both a lady and a tramp (referring to the song with Tony).

During the Born This Way Ball Tour you broke your hip. This, plus exhaustion caused you to cancel it. You work non stop. Do you do it for the money or is it more of a personal need?

No, I’m not doing it for the money. After my first songs, which became big hits, I had no longer money issues. But when you’re an artist, you get addicted and you always want to do things. That’s why you need to have the right people around you, who will protect you, meaning that they will stop before they start treating you like a product. Unfortunately during the Born This Way Ball they didn’t protect me and treated me like a piece of meat. Like I was disposable and the moment I stopped making them profit, they moved to the next artist.

The gay community loves you. Some would say that you built your career around it. Is it something you’re really into, or did you do it for marketing reasons?

It was something completely unexpected. My first hit (Just Dance) was first acknowledged by the gay community. Of course later in my career my songs had appeal on everyone and I’m really thankful for that. My favorite song is You and I, and also Bad Romance, which people have linked me to most.

Who are your musical influences?

David Bowie, Queen, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson. I would like to say Madonna, but let me tell you something. If I was an established artist, I would love to help younger artists.

So, are you implying that Madonna has no soul?

You said it, not me!

After many years, what’s the thing you would want to follow you.

Because I’ve been bullied myself, I think of the youth a lot. Even if a single kid finds comfort in one of my songs, that would be the biggest success for me. There’s a message into everything I do. When I wore meat on my head and body, I didn’t do it for fun. I wanted to show that some people treat us like a piece of meat.

Ok Gags needs to chill, Madonna didnt help only the artists she perceived as threats to her status, Mariah in the mid 90s and her, so she should feel honored

I don't understand. Madonna has done more charity work than Gaga if my memory serves me correct. Someone please explain.  :coffee:

What does she even mean?

That Madonna, was a established artist, shouldn't poke fun of younger acts
