I think the space thing is just going to feel far away, removed, not anything that gives you feeling, just a gimmick, an event., but ultimately I just don't think it's going to translate into anything beyond being the first. The Superbowl has a stadiium filled with people, 12 million watching, and 20 minutes to put together a spectacular show where you have a captive audience who are watching the biggest football event of the year. You genuinely think EVERYONE will watch it? I can promise you that more than thousands of people on my college campus alone will not be paying attention. It will be reported in the news but people need to remember that a ton of people don't pay attention to the news. I agree to a certain degree, but there were superbowl performances that have received worldwide coverage by the media such as Janet Jackson's nipplegate. It wasn't Janet though who benefited from that but Justin Timberlake who was featured in this performance. The space performance wouldn't be limited to one area of the world.
