http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/business/canada-s-economy-adds-74-000-jobs-jobless-rate-drops-to-6-year-low-1.2794839

After the US added 248,000 jobs last month, unemployment fell to 5.9%. And after Canada adding 74,000 jobs last month, unemployment fell to 6.8%

Both Countries have a different methology of measuring unemployment, but when you adjust for that differnce both Countries now actually have the exact same unemployment rate

Both US and Canada now have the lowest unemployment Since recession as of last month

yeah this is because most people stopped searching for jobs because there are still none out there, the uemployment rate isn't really a great indicator because once u give up looking for a job you aren't counted in the unemployment rate.

nahh i dont think this is true. I live in a really small town in the south and we have been experiencing A LOT of growth in the community. A bunch of new businesses are being built or have been built and its really bringing more jobs.

the labor force participation rate has dropped a lot and as ive pointed out often, thats an issue. if a smaller percentage of the population is working, then the economies full capacity isnt as great when you reach "full employment"

Some of it is ppl giving up looking for work, but some of it is ppl retiring as well as people staying in school longer now-a-days

This sucks because when the US reaches full employment (considered to be when unemployment is around 4%), the economy wont be as strong and as productive as what it was before when unemployment was 4%
