monsterdreams 1,529
If they can achieve this and this promo with a jazz album, imagine the possibilities with her next big pop release Haters gonna need more than a flashlight for my shade

Dreamscape1896 0
This album going number one is very important, and I am so happy for Gaga! First off it's a Jazz album, something completely different for her, and she's still coming off some pretty bad backlash. It going number one shows whatever people say about Gaga, she is to be taken seriously and is a force to be reckoned with. Haters gonna' hate, but that doesn't mean they don't know the truth. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
Yea I think her new management is on-point. She's had her down era, I think there's a great chance that the public will be interested in her again next era if the music, visuals, and promo are all on-point, and I think they will be. Emvee 8,487
HONESTLY, the ARTPOP promo was great. Let's not act as if Gaga wasn't everywhere some weeks, at least from August 2013 till December 2013. I mean she had the youtube music awards (which sent a email to like tons of people to watch her performance which ended up making Dope a top 10 single), SNL on the ARTPOP release week, The Voice with Xtina, loads of Radio appearances, some ITunes promo, the ITunes festival which ITunes had links t watch her performance all of September if I remember well and loads of radio promo, some Promo in Japan and more. Also the ARTPOP cover revelation in times square and the clearchannel deal all over the world. The promo simply wasn't effective, why? idk, the GP just didn't like AP, but she was everywhere. I do agree that she lacked Australian and European promo, but I don't get why people say Gaga didn't promote enough. I don't think the promo was the problem, i think the problem was simply the music I agree with this. If anything, ARTPOP had more of those high profile televised promotional spots. You can't beat the VMAs or SNL or AMAs. People weren't here for ARTPOP. The end. This reason why Interscope stopped promoting it after the DWUW era is because that's when they realized the album was not profitable enough to pour more money into it. Vernier 3,786
I'm not really reading anything into C2C's success tbh, except that she has a team that's work I'll gauge public interest in her when her new solo work is released, I think it'd be a more accurate measure of where her career is. Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
LaLuna 12,732
gaga needs to chill with the pre album release hype and let the music and promotion do the talking I agree. I remember reading a C2C review (can't remember which though) and it said something along the lines of "This is the album for people who want to like Gaga but wish she'd just cut the crap and sing.". I think C2C's success will make Gaga realize that she doesn't need to overhype her albums and give them contrived concepts like "reverse Warholian experience". People know Gaga is talented and that she's a great singer, and C2C just proves that they're willing to listen when she lets her talent speak for itself. djBuffoon 12,128
It's easy to blame the music on ARTPOP, but it's really no more or less effective than her previous works... And if that is the reason why the era petered out, why did I come across so many "fans" who didn't even know the album existed, let alone formed an opinion about it? I don't think the promo was the problem, i think the problem was simply the music Thank you! People always say ARTPOP had no promo when she did all that you listed and then some. I think ARTPOP's underperformance was due to the combination of Gaga's mood at the time, lack of support from management, and the GP not clicking with the music- it was lukewarm to them but nothing spectacular
pachinko 10,486
Cheek to Cheek delivered more than it promised. ARTPOP promised more than it delivered. That's the solution to her whole career right there.

I don't think the promo was the problem, i think the problem was simply the music she overhyped ARTPOP the promo was just normal for an album release, BTW promo was way more extensive but after DWUW was released as a single she practically dissapeared and didn't even released the video if DWUW would get more promotion and the video it would been a bigger hit and the album sales woulnd't have sink the way they did also she was getting serrious backlash from the media, almost everyone where trashing her work as musician and as an artist so the gp didnt even try to listen to the album they just dragged it for what they'd read and seen C2C promo was/is better executed
