She's said in the past that she's sung in jazz band, so I assume this is one of the first opportunities she would've had to sing jazz music. Also, not forgetting that she was taking singing lessons, and her teacher (I think it was Don Lawrence at the time?) would've given her a range of songs, probably including jazz standards. She appears to know a lot about jazz and is good at singing it so it can't be something she's recently picked up, she's also made quite a few jazz references throughout her career (but I guess there not something most people would've payed attention to at the time).
