Do you believe Gaga's been singing jazz since she was 13 years old?

Yes. She went to a private catholic school that would've had musical ensembles, including a jazz band. She's said in the past that she's sung in jazz band, so I assume this is one of the first opportunities she would've had to sing jazz music. Also, not forgetting that she was taking singing lessons, and her teacher (I think it was Don Lawrence at the time?) would've given her a range of songs, probably including jazz standards.

I know Gaga exaggerates sometimes but I doubt she would blatantly lie about something like that.

Definitely. She appears to know a lot about jazz and is good at singing it so it can't be something she's recently picked up, she's also made quite a few jazz references throughout her career (but I guess there not something most people would've payed attention to at the time). I also don't see why she would lie about it.

Joe said she won a competition for jazz as a teenager. She's been doing musical theatre forever. So this is pretty well documented.

She's too good at it to have only recently picked it up.

This. You don't become a jazz singer overnight.

We have a million reasons to believe she's been singing jazz since a young age and nothing to speculate that she's lying.

Why is everyone always so skeptical of her goddamn. :rip:

Why would she lie about that? I don't understand the motivation for this post, unless it's to make fun of fans being gratuitously skeptical about her statements.
