Alphaz 7,947
The album won't promote itself so it's totally okay for her to do this but I still won't buy it not because I hate Jazz, I just don't like the songs choice, I might change my mind after a couple of times listening to it tho it might grow on me

spicemuncher 1,593
To those complaining about her doing this... we all were in agreement earlier in the week that she needed to do something to get those 5k to chart at #1. What's so different now? That she asked us to spread links? She + the team are working hard to push the album that extra mile to get the sales because it would be fantastic if it charts at #1. While you take 1 minute to tweet links, she will be sitting at a table signing TWO THOUSAND copies for her fans. She too is working for this. I am trying my best to convince those around me to buy the album, and I've done my part buying 1x digital, 1x physical (US), 2x physical (UK). Also, Jazz isn't really my preferred genre of music, but anyone with half a brain would be able to appreciate all the live instrumentation recorded on this album, the incredible vocal delivery and just the overall love and passion she and Tony have put into this. The least I can do as a dedicated fan is support my favorite artist who releases an album every 18-24 months. Seriously... $12.99 every 18-24 months. I'm not even a fan of jazz music and I'll probably never be. But I've bought 2 physical copies and that autographed copy. Even if I don't like the music I want to show my support and how much I still appreciate the album even if its not my type of music. Gaga's also working hard and people STILL haven't noticed this. She's on tour right now and she's already done more interviews for C2C than interviews for ARTPOP during the entire era. ▌│█║▌║▌║ before I am Canadian, I am Chromatican ║▌║▌║█│▌

spicemuncher 1,593
As long as they are on the same receipt then yes, sadly. If anything you can always buy one copy each time, 100 times. From Billboard: Hey Fred, I always enjoy reading your Chart Beat Chat column. I've been following it for some time now. I don't remember seeing an answer to this question I have concerning iTunes purchases, but I could be mistaken. Do multiple purchases on iTunes count toward sales figures? I know iTunes has something in place to prevent you from making the mistake of purchasing the same album/single twice or multiple times. However, if you do end up buying an item multiple times, do all of your purchases count and are they figured into the sales figures? For example, if I bought a single two or three times, would every purchase count or would they only count the first purchase from my account? Thanks in advance! Dan Aupperle New Jersey Dear Dan, Buying a track two times would count as two sales. There could be a number of reasons you would want to buy the same song twice (maybe you want to have it on 10 different computers). However, if you were to buy a track, let's say, oh, 800 times, that would be considered an anomaly and would not count. So it's not possible to rig the charts by buying the same track an exorbitant amount of times. The same has always been true of physical records as well. I know someone who purchased several hundred copies of the same CD single a few years ago to give out as gifts, and was surprised to find out that sale was not counted for the charts. I explained to her later that her sale must have been considered an anomaly, and possible chart-rigging, although that wasn't her intent. Perhaps if she had purchased 10 singles each at 80 different stores she would have made an impact on the charts, but I don't think she had the time or energy. source: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1048227/chart-beat-chat Basically, any normal number (1, 2, 3, etc. to 10) would count. Anything incredibly big to be considered "buying in bulk" would then count as one unit, as it would be considered an anomaly.
